I’m changing the GPU so I had to. This has been running for 4 years, without any maintenance except for a couple of top-ups. Honestly it’s not as bad as I thought it would be.

Most of the gunk in the CPU block looks like residue from o-rings from the fittings, some dust, maybe a bit of color pigment, not sure really. Tube was acrylic, it’s not stained at all.
The CPU block cleaned nicely, except for a very light stain mark.

The GPU block took a toll though, I didn’t get to disassemble it yet to check how bad it is and how much it would clean. That’s what it looks like after emptying.

I have EPDM and DP ultra clear ready to replace the tubing and coolant this time though, it will be much easier to do future maintenance hopefully (provided I’m less lazy this time 😅)

Redoing loop for GPU change and Hardtube to EPDM. Thinking about fan airflow.

Hey watercooling aficionados.
I will change my GPU this weekend and I’m taking the opportunity to go from hard-tubing to EPDM as well. I’m becoming softer as I get older - pun intended 😅

I’m wondering about airflow also. I’m thinking about going all intake for the rads (2x 420mm Nexxos ST45).
Currently I have it setup like shown in the picture (top rad push/exhaust, front push/intake, side intake and rear exhaust) on my Corsair 7000x. (Feel free to check my profile for the current build specs)

Generally speaking, I know cool intake is better for rads, but what do you think? Should I switch the top rad/fans to intake as well? (Push or pull?)
If I can lower the temps a bit, I wouldn’t mind, as room temp is increasing dramatically here over the years.

Sidenote : anything I should know about EPDM except differences across brands for stiffness and diameter ? (I already checked for that and went with Watercool/HK tubes and Barrow compression fittings)

3080ti to 9070XT. Team red now.

I was a big fan of EVGA, and always told myself I would switch to AMD when they would stop making GPU.

I really hesitated with the Sapphire Nitro+ because of the reputation of the brand and how sick their card look. But I don’t have a PSU with the 12V connector and it would have been too much of a gamble. So I chose this XFX Mercury instead and I have absolutely no regrets seeing how you guys here talk highly about it.

I’ll take the opportunity to completely disassemble my custom loop, and go soft tubing this time around, and ditch Windows for Linux as well.

I can’t wait to boot up what will feel like a totally new PC.
