Boutiques/Multi-Brand/Corp owned?
When I was looking to get my first VC, I spent a bunch of time on this sub/r (and elsewhere) trying to understand the actual differences between the various retail channels that VC uses--at least in the US. All of this might be different elsewhere.
The only issue that I think any of us care about is which one of these can get a scarce reference the quickest--or at all.
If this helps anyone else, the corp owned flagship store in NY had far better access, and ability to source, than the "boutiques" in both Las Vegas and NYC, or the online boutique. I have zero purchase history, and am not local, in either city. Maybe this was a one off situation, who knows--and purchase history could certainly change everything. But for better or worse, I wanted a ref which was being phased out, and therefore harder to get--and the NY store was the only one who could get it done. Which obv leads me to the conclusion that all things equal, VC will favor its own stores for allocations. Not surprising I guess.
