New watch day!

Got this today to compliment my 4520v blue dial. Briefly considered a Daytona but quickly saw sense after trying both on. Stunning piece.

What next ?

Thinking white gold meteriote DD? I am not sure on Pateks, maybe a world time. Favorite to wear is vacheron. I also love the AP and do want one with a bracelet over time. The skydweller was my first big watch purchase so somewhat sentimental. The RD is just for fun. I also saw ozzy Osborne has one like it which influenced that decision.

The End

Falling out of love of this one.. the sapphire must be missing a coating or something impossible to keep clean. Too big for my wrists doesn’t sit right. And the fact it is in steel annoys me.

Won’t be surprised if it goes soon 😌

Finally in the club!

New to me 4000V. Really enjoying the light on the dial and slimness of the case. Amazing!

* 7" wrist

** Got it grey

6 piece collection

I recently added a 1983 Datejust reference 16014 to round out my six piece collection. I’ve greatly favored the 5 digit vintage/neo-vintage references overtime as opposed to the newer 6 digit models. Even though I have a 7.5-7.75 inch wrist, I prefer the slimmer case profile and overall wear of the older Rolex examples.

Boutiques/Multi-Brand/Corp owned?

When I was looking to get my first VC, I spent a bunch of time on this sub/r (and elsewhere) trying to understand the actual differences between the various retail channels that VC uses--at least in the US. All of this might be different elsewhere.

The only issue that I think any of us care about is which one of these can get a scarce reference the quickest--or at all.

If this helps anyone else, the corp owned flagship store in NY had far better access, and ability to source, than the "boutiques" in both Las Vegas and NYC, or the online boutique. I have zero purchase history, and am not local, in either city. Maybe this was a one off situation, who knows--and purchase history could certainly change everything. But for better or worse, I wanted a ref which was being phased out, and therefore harder to get--and the NY store was the only one who could get it done. Which obv leads me to the conclusion that all things equal, VC will favor its own stores for allocations. Not surprising I guess.

The blue on the overseas is unmatched!

This is one of VC's best watches along with the perpetual calendar.

I haven’t been into the holy trinity, until today…

So people have been telling me to get something from the big 3 after seeing my collection.

I never got into AP. I kind of dig the Patek Travel Time, but never at retail and have no interest in an Aquanaut.

VC has always been a bit boring to me (sorry) at that price point and I never really felt would diversify my collection enough. That was until I saw the Overseas Dual Time.

I still have some hesitation with that price point for a titanium watch but the design language is great. I also know nothing about the VC purchase experience. Is this something that will hold value and be relatively easy to acquire, or is it like the Patek, that’s a ladder piece and would be better getting on the grey market?

Open to any and all advice/info.

Overseas Dual Time & Chronograph Wait

I tried searching other wait threads but all I found was someone sharing their website to have users submit wait times. I’ve never bought a Vacheron but am turning 40 later this year and am thinking about splurging by getting either a stainless steel dual time or Chronograph. Can anyone who has purchased either in the last year know what roughly what I should expect to wait? Part of what attracts me to Vacheron is not having to play the games of Rolex, AP, etc. but I also know these things aren’t easily available. I can obviously get an older version on the grey market for below retail, but I’ve never bought a watch grey before as I’m generally spooked on authenticity/would prefer to physically inspect a used watch

Thank you

How much more would you pay for a blue 7900v vs black?

Have an opportunity to buy a black 7900v for like 24k and seeing listings for the blue are closer to 30k. Is the blue really worth an extra 6k to you guys? I'm thinking not but curious to see others perspective
