Bigfoot 1500 shakedown

Just got back from 11 days. 400 watts solar / 230 amp hour lithium ran the fridge without issues; 3 days with clouds I got down to around 20 percent. The go power PWM charge controller is junk and doesn’t give a remotely accurate battery percentage so I have just been using a lithium voltage chart. Will be installing a MPPT with built in DC to DC charging asap. Any input on where to run the wire in?

Very annoyed that the cabinet enclosures are veneered MDF; cabinet doors are solid wood.

Much preferred the sliding pocket bathroom door on my NL to the bi-fold door.

The skylight doesn’t add allot of heat and provides allot of natural light.

The new torq lift stairs with the adjustable leg posts are very handy.

Added some much needed spice rack storage and some command hooks on the mirror.

Converted the dinette to a permanent day/kid bed/gear pile.

Overall pleased with its size and weight. Even with 38 gallons of water it drives much better than my old unit.

2027 Bigfoot C9.5FR

After 8 months of waiting and a hellish trip to the Midwest white trash high tide mark that is Colorado front range, I got my new Bigfoot.

No AC/hot water heater
12 volt fridge/230 amp hour lithium/400 watts solar
Optical vision rear door
Skylight
Carpet delete
Blind delete
No graphics (ugly massive vinyl stickers not a option to delete apparently when your paying 45k)

Build quality is excellent. Weighs much less than my 00’ 10-2000 northern lite.

Comes with heinous 6000 kelvin lights, working on finding 2700k chips.

Battery sizing help.

I realize I’m asking here ex post facto.

I’m picking my new camper up next week and then going on a trip. I accidentally ordered a li-time 230 AH lithium instead of a 320 AH. I have 400 watts solar and will be running a 6 cubic foot fridge. The battery is not returnable, I’m sure I can sell it on marketplace, should I go ahead and order the 320 like I originally intended or will this setup work fine? Will be in mostly sunny area.

Great Western Buildings

Was finally granted a variance by the HOA and am about to wire a deposit on this 16’ x 35-37’ steel building, non insulated, no windows, walk door and 10’ x 12’ garage door from Great Western.

They sent me an email regarding price hikes coming next Friday, which I suspect is a sales tactic but maybe not given the state of the union.

Does anyone have any experience with them? My initial quote is $26,838.00 without delivery (going to rent a gooseneck and pick it up).

I’m also debating whether I order the building without the garage door and spec that later from a garage door guy?

$792 for a steel side door kit? Any reason to not just wood frame it out and do home cheapo door?

Another item of suspicion is that they want $2500 for engineered slab on grade plans, I found a guy who will stamp these for much cheaper.

Overall they have been much more professional and responsive than any company in Utah I’ve contacted, most of them doing beer can tube buildings.

Thanks for any input this is my first steel building and a big purchase.

5” superflux heat test

I’ve read many comments to the effect of ‘I heard it overheats’.

75 F / 23.9 C degrees air temp. First ride was 2 miles out and back 400’ of vertical gain, motor was at 49 C/ 120 F upon return, pretty much asking everything of the board on the way up going fast. I then repeated this ride but was going walking pace with a date and to my surprise it gave me pushback (176 F / 80 C) 30 yards from the top.

The motor went from 80 C to 72 C in about 15 minutes, so I’d say it does cool quickly, and I suspect the slow walking pace up also contributed to the rapid rise in motor temp on the second ride.

Food for thought. I’ve been very happy with this board. Still regret not going hypercharge but the range is awesome.

And on an added note I feel bad for people shelling out money on a GT-S/GT/XRC, this board absolutely crushes a GT-S and the ability to toggle the footpad sensor settings in VESC tool in conjunction with the power makes it feel SO SAFE.

Hi folks.

I am interested in having a 16’ x 35’ x 12’ non insulated building done to house a small shop and park my truck and truck camper in. I will be doing a slab on grade and all permitting myself but as far as the building goes I don’t know where to begin.

I am in Utah.

Is it recommended to find a local steel building guy or order through a large company like this one? There is no shortage of people advertising locally that do these. I will need financing for the building but not the concrete. Best to go through the manufacturer financing or take out a construction loan?

I need 11’ clearance for my camper setup, what eave height might I need, 12’?

Thanks for any input.
