“My heart comes from Bosnia,” said Elvir Kafedzic, an assistant coach with City2, City SC’s development squad, and one of many who fled Bosnia during its war and settled in America, “but my home and everything I’ve achieved in life is here in St. Louis, in America. For those 90 minutes, they stand on opposite sides, but I feel like, after the whistle, they’ll always be part of who I am. This is not just a soccer match. I feel like it’s a celebration of two countries that shaped my life and the lives of thousands and thousands of Bosnians.”
