The government has a new plan called the 2026 Draft Amendment Rules. This plan sets the legal standards for vehicles to run on E85 and E100 (high-alcohol) fuels. It also adds a new technical guide (Annexure SA) specifically for E100 engines and changes how pollution is measured for these fuels using mg/kWh.
