VICTORIES - C U L8R (alligator) - YouTube
Hey everyone,
I play bass in a Montreal band called Victories. We just put out a new track today called "C U L8R (Alligator)" and wanted to drop it here to see what you think.
Since it’s Mental Health Awareness Month, the timing felt right to share this one. It’s a steady, mid-tempo 96 BPM groove about dealing with depression and the isolation that comes with it. Specifically, it's about that heavy guilt you feel when you pull a disappearing act and start ghosting your partner, your friends, or your family because you just don't have the energy to exist.
The bridge lyric is the core of the song:
"I'm sorry if I'm not myself / I couldn't be somebody else."
It's essentially the conversation you wish you could have before you completely shut people out. It's for those heavy weekends where you can't force yourself out of bed, you let the texts pile up unanswered, and you feel like a ghost to the people around you while you're just trying to survive the day.
If you’ve ever felt like you were letting people down by disappearing, or if you're currently isolating and trying to navigate a rough patch, I hope this hits home. Surviving is winning.
Let me know what you think of the bridge if you give it a listen.
