I don’t know if this has been posted yet, but it’s one of my favorite depictions of the Cenobites. This artist manages to capture the hungry eyes, clothing sewn to skin, the painful rawness of their wounds, and their bioluminescence that the movie wasn’t able to — practically alien.

A third section of the ancient port city— gloomy, oppressive, and dark, nestled on either side of the black Ash river, monolithic buildings peering over its massive land-walls.
Medium is colored pencil on paper.
Their wooden lacquered masks are described as implacable, dour, and dark red. I made this from ash wood, to represent the world tree/weirwood, and red guitar lacquer so you can see the wood grain. Influenced by the Pallid Mask from The King in Yellow and the Lady’s mask from Little Nightmares. I have a whole costume I’m getting together, hopefully I’ll post that soon.
