A bit of a display / walkthrough I'm working on for this upcoming season.

This is my first time attempting anything like this. I just recently got into creating horror based art and thought to use some of those skills to see what I could come up with.

Aliens [a collection]

Although I have shown two of the aliens I've created out of papermache, I thought to create a post showcasing the finished versions of each thing I created involving papermache. This has been my first time working with this material and it has been pretty fun. Now that I'm satisfied with what I have learned, it's time to start something new and progress even further.

01 - The first time I ever created anything with papermache. It's a bug like thing indeed.

02 - Got a bit more ambitious and created something involving a lot more geometry as well as volume of papermache. This is a plant believe it or not.

03 - Here's where things get exciting. My first person sized creature. What a quirky dude.

04 - The end of the aliens (for now). This creature is the most ambitious thing I've created thus far, and it's taught me a lot.

Alien 02 Complete

Here's the final version of this more threatening creature made from an armature of pvc pipe and chicken wire, with the form built up using papermache and pool noodles, and finally, the detail created with air dry foam clay and creepy cloth. This was a fun one and also one to show progression on this journey of creating things.

How would I go about finding people who would be willing to buy pieces similar to these?

I'm trying to find ways to finance my start into the world of making, specifically in regards to haunted houses, but also, just horror related art in general. I honestly don't know where to look or how to even find people who may be interested in these types of things. Anyone have any suggestions?

Alien 02 (WIP)

Here's a project I'm working on. The armature is pvc pipe, with chicken wire to give a bit of shape to the creature, then papermache on top of that, and finally creepy cloth and air dry foam clay for areas in need of more texture. This creature is 7'2" tall.

Finished Alien Creature

This was a a fun first attempt at something of this size. I'm proud of what I created and excited to use what I've learned to keep creating. I'll probably stick with papermache as it's cheap and affective for building out a shell.

Alien Creature (base coat)

The base coat of black has been applied. This thing is coming along nicely for my first attempt at something like this.

Artist: (me), Title: plant creature

This is a plant like creature I created. It's made using a recycled shoe rack as the armature, papermache to build up the mass, and foam clay for the areas in need of more detail.

Alien Creature

This is my first attempt at creating a human scale prop of this nature. So far, it's turning out alright. Learning a lot and excited to improve with the next human scale prop.

[Self] First Attempt (human scale) Creature

Here's an alien type creature I am working. This is my first attempt at creating something of this scale. The armature is made from pvc with foam used to beef up certain areas. On top of that is paper mache, then foam clay in areas dependant on more texture. The plan is to pain the body and drape fabric in certain areas to make the creature look more alive.
