How long did you keep working a silent deal before you moved it out of the pipeline?

I sell software into mid market marketing teams and I've been doing it a bit over three years. I had a deal sitting at around 38k where the champion replied same day for six weeks, then went completely silent the moment i sent pricing. I've followed up four times across email and LinkedIn, i've sent the breakup email, and i've had nothing back for about five weeks now. I know the honest read is that it's dead and i'm not fishing for a magic sequence, i just keep forecasting it because nobody ever told me no.

How long did you keep touching a deal like this before you pulled it out of the pipeline?

Pan sauce keeps turning grainy when I mount it with butter, is it my heat or my timing?

Making pan sauces after searing steak in cast iron, beef stock, shallot, splash of red wine. I reduce to about a third, pull it off the heat, then whisk in cold cubed butter a couple pieces at a time. Maybe half the time it goes grainy and slightly greasy instead of glossy.

I've tried taking the pan fully off the burner, using butter straight from the fridge, and whisking constantly. Still breaks.

Wondering if the cast iron is holding too much residual heat even off the burner, or if the rendered fat left in the pan from searing is throwing off the emulsion and I should be pouring more of it off before deglazing. Roughly 1/3 cup of reduction and 3 tbsp butter.
