Huisarts in Voorburg?

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a good huisarts in Voorburg that is international friendly? I’m a native English speaker with average Dutch language skills, so would prefer a GP with decent English if possible. Ideally looking for someone good with women’s health 😊
Thanks!

Rental property and tax…

Hi everyone, hope this is the right place to ask!

I have a house I bought in 2019. Unfortunately, 6 months into owning it, it was broken into and badly damaged. Fast forward to now (after issues with my bank, Covid pricing me out of my loan, builder going AWOL etc), and my house should hopefully be fully completed in the next couple of months, and will be rented out. The house is in a pretty low-income area in a small town and won’t be generating much in rental income 😅

I am going overseas at the beginning of next year (likely for the year, then returning to NZ). The country I will be living in has a dual tax agreement with NZ, so if/when I’m working over there it shouldn’t be a problem here. My only income in NZ will be the rental income (but I have a student loan and will be also paying some ongoing unrelated bills in NZ while I’m out of the country).

Who would be the best sort of person to talk to for initial tax guidance? Does anyone have any recommendations or advice based on my circumstances? I really don’t know where to start with this stuff as I hadn’t initially planned for the house to be a rental. I’m a single woman on a single (average) income so I’m also hoping to avoid forking out heaps for ongoing accounting work beyond some help getting set up initially and advice on what would be counted as tax deductible for this initial period.

Hope this all makes sense! Would appreciate any advice or recommendations 😊

Job prospects?

I am moving to NL in early 2027 on a partnership visa, so I am starting to look around the job market to see what I could potentially do, but I’m hoping for some suggestions and advice!

I am not fluent in Dutch, I sit around a B1-B2 level (my family is Dutch but I grew up on the other side of the world 😅). I’m a native English speaker. I have previously worked in youth social services, currently work a government job in my country which is unfortunately a little niche but involves application of privacy law. I have a Bachelors degree in a social science and am currently working on a masters thesis.

I would love to ideally do some form of work for a humanitarian organisation, NGO or similar. The only jobs I’ve come across so far that would suit me/my skills and qualifications are internships with the ICC but unfortunately I need paid work. Other jobs seem to require fluency in both Dutch and English, or fluency in English and another language.

Does anyone have any suggestions for types of roles to look out for? Specific organisations? I’m aware of most of the job listing platforms out there, but any suggestions to focus my search a little would be fantastic!

MVV - travel-in period?

Hi all, we are in the process of applying for a partnership visa for me (my partner is Dutch, I am from NZ). I had a question about the travel in time…everything I can find online says you have 90 days to collect the MVV sticker and 90 days after that to travel to NL. Does anyone know the timeframe if you’re MVV exempt? Is there one?

We’re trying to decide when to lodge the application, as I can’t leave here before a certain date and if it’s accepted quicker than expected, it’ll cause some problems. But if we lodge the application too late and it takes a long time, then I won’t be able to work until it’s accepted.

Has anyone been in the same boat? 😊

Hi all,

I am looking for someone in Voorburg to do some basic hair and makeup for me in early June, for a wedding I am attending. I am having a hard time finding someone that does both and I’m not sure I’ll have time on the day to do seperate appointments 😅

Does anyone have any recommendations?
