I am looking for a restaurant/brasserie which is kind of out of the city. Something a bit romantic, cozy and calm. Looks like both low effort but special. Better if it is in the nature or something. After dinner we can take a small walk also if it is the case. Additionally, it doesn’t necessarily have to be in Den Haag directly, surroundings are also fine.

Hi everyone, I’m an American that has been living in Den Haag for over a year and was wondering if anyone is aware of any bars that will be open late so that people can watch that game that has a 2am kickoff (our time)? It was unfortunately the same case when 🇺🇸 played 🇧🇦 so I ended up just watching it in my apartment alone while my wife slept in our bedroom down the hall and it’s tough not wanting to turn the volume up 😅

I'm not looking for places where they just add extra sambal or chili because I asked for it. I mean restaurants where the dishes are naturally spicy as they're traditionally prepared.

I'm 35F and moved last year to The Hague with my husband. I've picked up road cycling since then and getting more and more into it 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♀️ Looking for another lady of similar level to go on rides together, would love to cycle sometimes without the man but also not on my own ;)

I currently ride on average 24km/h and can go on rides 40-120km depending on time and what we want from the day.

My partner and I are visiting your beautiful region soon for a week. We will be based around The Hague / Scheveningen, but we are also planning to potentially take a day trip to Rotterdam (not 100% fixed yet).

We are looking for the most convenient and cost-effective public transport ticket option for the two of us for the entire week.

We will mostly be using:

• Trams and buses within The Hague and down to the beach in Scheveningen.
• Possibly the metro/tram connection between The Hague and Rotterdam (E-line) or the train.

Is there a specific 7-day regional pass we should look into, or is it better to just use OVpay for every single ride? Which zones or types of transport (trams, buses, metro, NS trains) would be covered by your recommendations?

Lost my job a year ago. Thought id have no problem getting a new one but I keep being rejected and im running out of ideas and savings. And today I was informed I need to pay back ALL my rent & health insurance allowance because I got a severence when i was let go.... i was taxed at 50% and now i owe 2k because of it??? What was the point of the severence then... i think i now qualify for general allowance because I am running out of savings...

Any idea on what i can do? To find a job and to not have to pay these fucking government allowances back

Vanochtend kwam de glazenwasser voor de derde keer sinds we in ons nieuwe huis wonen langs. En voor de derde keer niet naar tevredenheid.

Vorige keer, in maart, waste hij de ramen in de volle zon, met als resultaat overal vlekken. Daarvoor had ik ook al krassen op het raam ontdekt waarvan ik me afvroeg hoe die er waren gekomen.

Hoe dan ook, vandaag was ik thuis aan het werk, ramen open voor een lekker briesje, toen hij plotseling voor de deur stond. Ik probeerde snel de ramen te sluiten, en omdat we inmiddels horren hebben, moesten we die er ook nog even afhalen zodat hij goed bij de ramen kon.

In de keuken stond het raam (met hor) nog open, en daar was de glazenwasser sneller dan ik. Resultaat: een compleet natte keuken. Ik ben meteen naar buiten gelopen en heb hem gevraagd of hij voortaan even aan wil bellen, zodat dit soort natte verrassingen voorkomen kunnen worden.

Nu kon ik van dichtbij observeren wat de techniek achter zijn ramenwas-methode was: een soort metalen opzetstuk dat over het raam werd getrokken. Ik kreeg er kippenvel van, maar het mysterie van de krassen is in ieder geval opgelost.

Even later stond zijn baas voor de deur, met de vraag of ik zijn personeel had aangesproken. Hij opende met dat hij niet bij elk huis kan aanbellen. Prima, kan ik me iets bij voorstellen, maar was dan toch gewoon een raam niet? Je gaat toch niet een open raam wassen waardoor het binnen net zo nat wordt als buiten? Volgens meneer was het echter mijn eigen verantwoordelijkheid om ervoor te zorgen dat de ramen dicht zijn wanneer hij langskomt. Niet dat hij laat weten wanneer hij komt.

Hij vond het daarna maar beter om meteen af te rekenen (contant, uiteraard), want op deze manier ging hij er bij ons niet meer aan beginnen. Nou, prima wat mij betreft, blijf vooral weg. Toen ik zei dat ik geen contant geld in huis had, kreeg ik de instructie om dat maar even te gaan pinnen. Ik heb hem laten weten dat ik aan het werk was en dat hij op een ander moment terug moest komen.

Kers op de taart: er zit nog steeds vogelpoep op het raam. Dus dat ga ik zo zelf maar even doen.

TLDR: onze glazenwasser is een ramp, letterlijk en figuurlijk. Tegen beter weten in toch de vraag: iemand een goede aanrader voor een nieuwe in het Valkenboskwartier?

I'm looking for a good women's hairdresser in The Hague who has experience with Afro hair.

Price isn't the most important factor. I don't mind paying for quality, but I'm also not necessarily looking for the most expensive salon.

One thing I'd like to mention: I'm not looking for someone who specializes in installing wigs, weaves or extensions. I'm specifically looking for a hairdresser who is great at cutting, styling and taking care of natural Afro hair. The goal is to enhance natural hair rather than relying on extensions.

A hairdresser who focuses on natural hair and doesn't use unnecessary chemical products would definitely be a plus.

If you've had a great experience yourself, or know someone who has, I'd really appreciate your recommendations.

I’m likely moving to The Hague in the next few months for work and I’m starting to look into housing.

My budget is around €1,200/month, and I’m trying to understand what the best strategy is.

A few questions:

* Is €1,200 enough to rent a small apartment on my own, or should I expect to look for a shared apartment?
* Which websites or apps do people actually use? I’ve heard of Funda, Pararius and Kamernet, but are there others that are worth checking?
* Are there any Facebook groups, agencies or local platforms that you’d recommend?
* How far in advance should I start looking?
* What are the best neighborhoods for someone in their late 20s? I’d love to live somewhere with a good social atmosphere, cafés, bars, gyms, and plenty of people around my age.
* Any tips for improving my chances in such a competitive market?

I’m a 27-year-old professional relocating from Spain, so any advice from people who have gone through the process would be greatly appreciated.

Gezien ik ga verhuizen werd mij door de gemeente aangeraden om voor de komende maand mijn resterende uren van mijn bezoekersvergunning te gebruiken, ipv het bewoners abonnement te verlengen.

Nu heb ik afgelopen weekend voor de komende 2 a 3 weken mijzelf aangemeld voor 1800-00:00 (betaald parkeren waar ik woon). Kom ik er net achter, na 2 dagen, dat de app al mijn tijden heeft aangepast en steeds om 20:00 begint (tot 2:00 uur). Iemand dit al eens meegemaakt, of is dit een UI issue?? Ik zie mijn complete historie ook niet meer…

Laat hem nu maar van vanochtend tot Augustus lopen. Kost mij meer uren gezien er in de wijk een aantal locaties zijn waar betaald parkeren eerder ingaat, maar wil het risico niet meer lopen dat iets automatisch wordt aangepast..
