1st Outdoor Grow Progress

So far so good, all plants adjusted well to outdoors except for one that is flowering early.

Ended up going with 5x in 15gal pots - 1x in 50gal pot - 1x directly in ground.
Plus 2x autoflowers in 5gal pots.

I figured mixing up the pots would give me a good gauge of how pot size effects overall growth for seasons to come.

Potted in a mix of miracle grow potting soil, local compost, worm castings, pearlite and dry amendments.

Spent the first month outdoors getting used to new pots and doing a bit too much LST.

Do you outdoor growers tend to lollipop plants alot or remove any of that lower growth or just let it rock?

Im going to hold off on any training for a while but are there any training methods that are typically more suited for outdoor growing?

Im thinking of setting up some kind of irrigation setup coming up soon as i cant imagine how much they will be drinking in flower.

Also thinking of some kind of trellis setup, any tips on doing it cheap and easy?
Maybe some posts and nettings and call it a day?

No clue what im doing but im just gonna keep winging it as we go ✌️

Anyways, happy growing fellas

Flower or preflower?

Howdy all,
First time growing outside and noticed one of my plants seem to be showing some flowering signs.
Is this a normal occurrence when growing outdoors?

They were transitioned out around 1 month ago coming from an 18/6 light schedule with a good week of hardening off.

Im in ny state as well so days are well long enough at this time

Ive heard of plants starting to bloom and going back into veg, is this one of those cases?

Strain: Green Mountain Grape (Sativa)

Thanks ✌️✌️

Whats wrong?

Hi all,

I transplanted these girls close to 2 weeks ago and they’ve looked pretty unhappy since.

Leaves have had a droopy look combined with some shriveled and wrinkly leaves.

My guess is a combination of transplant stress and under-watering.

Does anybody see any deficiencies or other issues that I may be missing?

Also these are my first photoperiods and would like to flip to flower soon, would you say they look healthy enough to flip?

Thanks all 🤙🤙

Finally got them outside!

Alright so i finally got the girls transplanted from their 3gal nursery pots to 15gal fabric pots. They are at day 60 of indoor veg.

I moved them to a new soil mix as well, 60% potting soil, 35% local compost and 5% perlite. Worried i didn’t add enough perlite since i only had a limited supply on hand during transplant.

It’s been 3 days and i can tell they’re still a bit transplant shocked so hopefully they start perking up by end of week.

2 more are going to be transplanted tomorrow, this time directly to soil. I will amend with my soil / compost mix as well.

Also dealing with some powdery mildew. It was due to all the plants being in a cramped tent with not enough air flow so im hoping moving outdoors helps clear up the issue.

Lastly, planted two speedrun autoflowers in 5 gal. First time starting seed outdoors so im sure ill learn some new things there as well.

Any tips are welcome, thanks all and happy growing!

First time outdoor grow

Starting to harden the girls off as they’ve been veggining indoors for almost 2 months.

Starting to get a bit nervous lol, i think this is going to be more work than i expected but oh well, will be a fun learning experience.

5x are going into 15gal pots, 2x are going straight into the ground. And im going to keep 2x indoors incase i royally screw up something 😅

At this point i just need to go to the compost yard and buy some potting mix and we should be good to go by June 1st

I think i gotta get some neem oil too from what ive been reading on here!

Day 45 - how we looking?

They got another 2 weeks before going outdoors.

9x plants in 2x4 tent, all in 3gal pots - fan on max and same with exhaust fan. Ordered another tent fan that should arrive soon.

Humidity is getting quite hard to control and keeps shooting up to 70%ish. Just hooked up dehumidifier in lung room, hopefully that’ll help some.

Getting fed 1.5l every other day and some light feeding every other watering as well.

I think im done lst and topping till they go outside bc theres no more space at this point.

Only 3rd grow so far so not too sure if theres anything i should be doing different. We ll see how it goes i guess 💁‍♂️

Also ordered 15gal pots and gonna go source some nice local compost this weekend. Continuing outdoor hardening when i can.

I know this questions will vary quite a bit but im trying to decide how big of pots I will go up to.

It now seems my biggest limiting factor will be water consumption. As i’ve read big plants can get up to 15 gal per day (way more than i expected).

I was planning on doing 25gal pots with potentially a few 50 gal pots. Looking to yield approximately 1lb per plant.

In your experience how much are you watering?
More watering during hot summer months or during late flower?
Does adding straw / mulch over soil limit water evaporation?

For reference im in NY state so summers wont be crazy hot and will get occasional rain.

Thanks in advance

How are we looking?
Did my first topping and first transplants on these laddies, i think it went well!
Im keeping the tall gal untopped as I wanna see how tall she can get outdoors.

Theyre now in 3gal pota with FFoF soil, no nutes yet.
Just bought some of those lst clips.

Does anybody have experience or any tips on the strains below?

Maui Pine - Dirty Bird
Pineapple Chunk - Barney Farm
Critical Kush - Barney Farm
Green Mountain Grape - GMS

They will all do 2 months indoor veg, then outdoors into 25, 50 and possibly 100gal pots. NY state growing so my primary focus was high mold / pest resistance and early finishers.

I also have a few Acid Snow autos by Speedrun seeds that ill throw outside come June.

Thanks growmies 🤙🤙
