My 78yo Mom's plants. 😊
RQS, Critical, 2 months old, living soil.
Feedback on first grow results?
I’ve completed my first grow ever and learned a ton. Just seeking feedback those with more experience can share. I’m mostly interested in soil type and pot size.
Here’s some background:
-Ethos Lilac Diesel Auto | 7g living soil fabric pot
-2x4 in shed with heat but no a/c
-Temp/RH/VPD/PPFD were mostly dialed in until the last couple weeks of flower where temp spiked; lowered PPFD and schedule to compensate
-Water only. I now know isn’t sufficient with 7gal living soil.
-In veg she was knocked over which likely caused stunting
-Quality turned out great but yield not so much…
For next time, I plan on sticking with autos & am now leaning towards Ocean Forest soil until I gain more experience (plus space). Is it true that 15gal min is best for living soil? I would love to grow organic yet need to keep it simple.
YAY
My vpd is about .60 off but WE HAVE LIFT OFF 💗💗💗 ordered a new dehumidifer for my tent 👏👏
pure sativa :)
i took this mature bud from the lower part, the rest of the plant is still finishing up
this bud shape is due to the sativa genetics.
Calcium?
I dont believe there is a lockout after measuring EC and PH of the runoff after a flush. I am around day 50 in both plants in Buildasoil 3.0 with worm castings and craft blend dry ammendments a few weeks ago around day 25 (too early, I know). I have not fed them with anything else since. VPD is 1.3 at 72-80F depending on time of day. Water is 6.8-7.0ph in wicking bases, light is 300w set at 60%- dli at about 38 to try to rule out light burn in this process. What is throwing me personally is that the brown is forming on the tops leaves as opposed to bottom, and I could be entirely off base but I thought calcium deficiency would start showing in lower leaves first? Any advice would be great, and if I missed any info I am happy to answer
Help making a handful of seeds in one tent
Hi All,
I'm trying to make a few seeds in my 4x4. I have 1 male and 3 females and looking for around 10-20 seeds each plant max.
I don't want to seed too much as I want to end up with sensimilia to smoke.
I only have 1 tent, so can't separate the male from the females. I have researched building a box with a fan to keep the pollen separated but I am a bit lazy TBH.
I have just 1 male which I've removed most branches except 1 main one.
I'm just wondering would it be ok to just leave this male with my girls and let life do it's thing?
Pics attached (male on the left of tent)
Rate my grow, day 75 😎
I had two autos that i planted at the same time, one ended up damping off so i left her outside in a solo cup and watered her with the rest of my other plants. And behold, 75 days later she actually started flowering and producing trichomes on her 3 catylaxes 😂 i believe this is officially the smallest ever plant that has made it through flower.
Should I cut these 2 leaves on my outdoor autoflower plant for more direct sun on the nodes?
I wanna cut these 2 leaves in the circles because it seems like there just blocking the bottom leaves/nodes, Than again I don’t know enough to make the correct judgement, I also heard proning doesn’t matter so much outside because the sun rotates so not sure what to do, What do you guys think?
Are surfacing roots an indicator of negative watering habits?
I don't always have this occurring, but I do frequently see it late in veg. I'm not sure if it's bad or benign. Any advice/knowledge would be appreciated.
Masterblend mixing strategy
First off- no weed growing here. Just fruit trees, avocados, berries, etc. But you guys seem to be most active in discussing hydroponic nutrients so i'm hoping i can get some advice. For background, we have soil that is likely north of 80% sand. Great drainage, horrible nutrient retention. Likely because of this, we have acidic soil. Have done a ton of compost tilling into soil, but its work in progress. Because Ca/K nitrates dont acidify and even slightly alkalize i'm going to start using the masterblend formula. I have a system set up to fertigate using chapin venturi mixers like seen above. At the top is a strainer basket for solubles, where i usually put fert. Here's my question- would i cause lockout if i made the MB/epsom solution and then just added the nitrate directly to that? without making a solution? My idea was to put the MB/epsom into the strainer basket and then sprinkle dry nitrate granules at root line of plants/trees. Trying to avoid having to set up a whole mixing operation to something i already have trouble staying on top of - fertilizing. TIA!
Opened up my paper towel and found my seed like this. Can i still toss it in soil or start over?
Super Skunk resinando muito
8 semanas de flora agora a paciência é fundamental esperando ficar de 10 a 20% de âmbar pra colher 😂
2 more weeks?
I only have a magnifying glass. I think there are almost no amber so I’m thinking g at least 2 more weeks?
Gushers yellowing leaves help
Help with gushers most fan leafs are all yellowing and starting to get a yellowing canopy am I ok to feed high nitrogen still at this stage
Pruning Outdoor Plants
I'm curious how much you guys prune your outdoor plants - I'm a bit more familiar with indoor growing.
These ones are manifolded, and spread out as much as possible. I left 2-4 branches in the center as well, to fully fill the space. I trimmed off lots of leaves and branches when they were young, but for the last 5-6 weeks I've mostly just let them be.
Do you think that I should ditch some of the lower/inner fan leaves, or leave them? It seems like there is adequate airflow, but I'm wondering if those leaves are beneficial (solar panels + nutrient reserves), or wasteful (growing a part of the plant I won't ultimately keep).
2 of these plants are in 50 gallon fabric pots, and the smaller one is in a ~10 gallon pot.
Forgot to post the pictures initially - they're in the comments below.
Thanks in advance!
