Honestly, I just randomly decided to only play the game in permadeath mode on a whim, but it has been WAY more fun for me.

- Way less time running back and forth between death points to pick up gear (arguably the most boring part of the game)

- Since content is limited at this point, permadeath creates a forced reset mechanism that makes the game feel like a psuedo-roguelike

- It allows you to not hoard high-value consumables like grenades and ammo, since you might not be around to use them otherwise

I hope the game will get to a point where its fun to play on a non-permadeath world for a long time, but until then, I guarantee you will have more fun with forced resets.
