ipad apple pencil issue
i just bought my first ever ipad (a16) and apple pencil (gen 1), the pencil wont work no matter what i do. i have the adapter, it plugs in and all that but the issue is my ipad just doesnt pick up the pencil is even there. every now and then it will pop up on the bluetooth settings but then it just wont work. the pencil wont write, it just is stuck in a perpetual state of dying despite being plugged up for 5+ hours. i saw someone say to plug it into my phone and use some bluetooth assistant app and that managed to make it pop up more consistently on my ipads bluetooth but still no writing, still inconsistent charging. and the moment i unplug the pencil from my phone my ipad cant connect to it again. i unplugged it to plug it into my ipad and as per usual it acted as if the pencil couldnt be connected for some reason. im just really lost and confused on what to do, this is my first ever apple product and i just wanted to get an ipad to draw with. is my pencil just busted?? do i need to take it back and get a new one?? like just what do i do
edit: returned the apple pencil, hoping to get a new one by the end of the week and hoping things go easier this time ^_^
