My 1st gen Apple Pencil won’t connect to my iPad A16 😭

I’m using the official Apple USB-C to Apple Pencil adapter, but the second I plug the ADAPTER into my iPad, it says “Cannot Use Accessory - This accessory uses too much power.” The notification keeps popping up nonstop even before I connect the Pencil itself. The adapter triggers it alone even before I plug the Pencil itself.

I already tried restarting, turning Bluetooth on/off, charging the Pencil, reconnecting everything, etc. At this point I feel like the adapter’s the problem.

How do I fix it? Has this happened to anyone else?

My Apple Pencil Pro is acting weird...

Hello, I bought this Apple Pencil Pro just 2 months ago with my iPad Pro M5. It used to work perfectly, and about a week ago it started working this way, I can't even trace lines... I haven't dropped it or anything. I work with a screen protector but I always did and it always worked well until now so I don't think the screen protector is the issue. And yes, I tried to screw/unscrew the tip, didn't change anything.

Is it a common issue with these pencils? Is there a proper solution or do I have to get it replaced?

These existing!

Accidentally came across these and had to have them! $10 apiece from Amazon no less. Are they absurd? Absolutely! Who else misses Apple Leather goods?!

Apple pencil not charing

i left my Apple Pencil uncharged for like max two days, and it won't charge anymore. I left it plugged in for over an hour, but it's still at zero.

i have the first gen, and the warranty has expired. Is there a way to fix this?

I built an app that turns your handwriting into a real TrueType font — trace, build, and type with your own lettering

Hey everyone! I've been working on Scribbles.ink, an iOS app that lets you create a real, usable TrueType font from your own handwriting — directly on your iPhone or iPad.

How it works:

  1. Trace — Write your characters using Apple Pencil or your finger. You can draw each letter individually, write full words and let the app segment them, or write freely on a blank canvas with AI-powered character recognition.

  2. Build — The app generates a proper TrueType font with four weights (Light, Regular, Bold, Heavy). Pro users can fine-tune glyph metrics, kerning pairs, and even export variable font collections.

  3. Use — Test your font in a built-in playground where you can create shareable cards, install it system-wide on your device, or type with it using a custom keyboard. Export as .ttf to use on your computer.

What makes it different:

• Everything runs 100% on-device — no server uploads, no cloud processing. Your handwriting data never leaves your phone or iPad.

• Apple Pencil pressure sensitivity translates into natural stroke width variation.

• The freeform mode uses on-device Vision AI to recognize and segment characters from natural handwriting — you just write normally and the app figures out the letters.

• SVG import/export for people who want to bring designs from tools like Illustrator or Glyphs.

Pricing: The core experience (trace characters, build fonts, playground) is free. Plus ($4.99/mo) adds word tracing, font export, and device installation. Pro ($9.99/mo) adds freeform AI tracing, variable fonts, SVG support, glyph editing, and cursive connections. There's also a Pro Lifetime option for $129.99.

I have a few promo codes for free lifetime Pro access (redeemable on the US App Store only) — send me a DM if you'd like one.

Apple Pencil - ID missing bits?

An elderly relative has an Apple Pencil, barely used, which they want me to sell for them. I’ve noticed that in its box, however, there are a couple of recesses in the packing which are empty: one’s obviously for a ‘nib’ - could it be the one currently fitted to the pen? And the other is a rectangular slot about 20 mm long. (There is a USB-C to lightning adapter present).

If anyone could tell me what’s missing from the pack, I’d be very grateful.

Help, my apple pencil keeps baiting me!

I rarely ever make posts asking for help online, but here we are. My Apple Pencil 2nd-gen tip stopped working on my iPad Pro (gen 4) this morning. Since turning it off and on again didn’t work, I opted to delete it and re-add it via Bluetooth. To my surprise and horror, it wouldn’t connect for the life of me. It shows me the little Apple Pencil pairing icon at the top, but it won’t appear on Bluetooth. I tried everything, I tightened the tip, I restarted my iPad with Bluetooth on/off, and pencil connected/disconnected, and I even reset my wifi connections. I then thought maybe because I didn’t use it for 3 days, the battery was low(it was 78% before disconnecting) so I waited an hour for it to charge, and still nothing, I even tried using a hair dryer for like 5 seconds. My only theory on why this happened is because of the new 26.4.2 update. What's sad is that this pencil is like 4 months old too. Please if you have anything more I can do, please share.

Is an apple pencil worth it?

My laptop recently broke down and my dad gave me his ipad air(2020) . Is it worth it to get the apple pencil for it? What are the pros and any reason why its not worth the price?

Am I better off buying a brand new Apple Pencil than a secondhand one?

I have a 10th generation iPad and I currently have a fake Apple Pencil which I use for taking notes for school

I am wanting a real one as the fake one is starting to lag as I’ve had it a while

I have looked online for secondhand apple pencils as I ideally don’t want to spend so much money on a brand new one, but I’m worried about getting scammed (either with a fake pencil or one that is bad quality and will stop working in a month or two

So should I just buy a brand new one to not take the risk?
