“Runner”

Another piece i illustrated for Shrapnel Magazine #22.

“Julian’s voice faded as he saw the Black Brian was already besieged. More unfamiliar ’Mechs, much larger than the trio he had faced in the uplands, stood over the flaming wreckage of the garrison’s headquarters Star, sprawled before the yawning open main gates. As he watched, the comparatively tiny armored forms of Steel Viper Elementals,

no doubt led by Star Colonel Grimani, charged out of the dark interior, spraying lasers and missiles at the unidentified raider ’Mechs. From both sides of the gate, bestial quadrupedal ProtoMechs emerged from ambush, six in total, and pounced on the Viper infantry, tearing them apart with their claws and spiked tails...”

“I Am Here”

Artwork i illustrated for Shrapnel Mag #24.
.
.
“The SCP-1O Scorpion crawls away on its three remaining legs at 13.4 kph. The mangled stump of the left rear leg drags in the dirt. The trees rise up all around us, sharp-pointed and viridian, like titanic blades of grass. I pick up the dismembered fourth leg and stride after it, easily catching up. I take the leg in both hands and swing it overhand, bringing it crashing down on the Scorpion’s cockpit. The Mech falls again, legs splayed like a crushed insect, and I

hit it again and again…”

“New Beginnings”

Artwork I illustrated for Shrapnel Mag #23.
.
.
“All it needed was a Pitban 320 engine, a Defiance Type J autocannon, a Coventry Star Fire long-range missile launcher and feed mechanism, and a Thunderbolt A5M large laser. That was all. So close, but so far. Put the engine into the thing and it would be mobile. Otherwise, it just sat in its museum for the occasional birthday kid, and housed the family’s dreams of becoming MechWarriors again. Six generations of the family had piloted Venator

before Wing and their pictures were also hung around the wall, and their names were engraved on the pilot plate in the cockpit, along with fourteen others before them…”

"Oliver and the Urbies" - Artwork for Shrapnel Mag #24

“My… my ’Mech…” Oliver trudged forward as he gaped at his commanding officer and then at the ruined hangar. “She’s gone…”
“Don’t just stand there! Get in a ’Mech and help!” Alpine gestured to two UrbanMechs that were standing next to the barracks from where they had just come..."

Adrianis of the Ebonwyld - Character Sketch

Lvl 4 Shadar-Kai Ranger for my friends Homebrew campaign, sketched him up a few nights ago. Apple Pencil & Procreate.

He leads a band of monster hunters called the Red Hoods, and though an outsider to the lands he has ingratiated himself to the locals as a kind, driven, and skilled protector/guide.
