1) Tell us who you are and anything it would be cool to know about you.
Hi, I’m Panyasan (Pan), an artist based in Japan. I love drawing cute characters with a touch of magic—especially girls, food themes, and Japanese-inspired elements like yōkai. I really enjoy adding tiny, cozy details that make characters feel warm and alive. If I had to represent myself, it would probably be a soft, glowing character holding bread 🍞✨

2) Tell us about your creative process.
My process usually starts with a feeling rather than a clear idea—something warm, mischievous, or comforting. I sketch loosely, then slowly refine the character while thinking about their personality and story. I really care about color, so I spend time choosing tones that feel soft, warm, and emotionally right. Colors and small details come last, and that’s where I try to add charm and life to the character.

3) What software and hardware do you use to create your art?
I mainly use an iPad with Procreate for my work. It allows me to draw anywhere comfortably and keeps my workflow simple. My “atelier” is pretty minimal—just my iPad, a good place to sit, and sometimes coffee nearby ☕️

4) You lived in Japan, but you are from a different descendence. How did your origin and the places you lived influence your art?
Growing up with a different cultural background while living in Japan gave me a mix of perspectives. I’m inspired by Japanese folklore, aesthetics, and seasonal feelings, but I also carry warmth and storytelling styles from my own roots. That blend naturally shows up in my characters—they often feel like they belong to a magical version of everyday life.

5) Do you work in art full-time? If not, what do you do for a living?
I’m not a full-time artist. I’m project engineer, which is quite different from art. But creating art is something I’m deeply passionate about, and I dedicate my time to it consistently outside of work.

6) What are interesting things you learned during your artistic journey that could be useful to people starting their journeys?
One important thing I learned is that consistency matters more than perfection. Drawing regularly—even small sketches—helps you grow faster than waiting for the “perfect” idea. Also, don’t be afraid to develop your own style. And honestly, even now I don’t consider myself a master yet—I’m still learning every day, just like everyone else starting out.

7) You are already an active NFT artist. Tell us a little bit about your experience in the space.
Being in the NFT space has been a really meaningful experience for me. It allowed me to connect with people who genuinely appreciate my style and storytelling. I’ve also learned how important community is—not just creating art, but sharing it, communicating, and growing together with others.

8) How was your experience creating a Little Futakuchi-onna for the Neo Yokai project? Tell us your inspirations.
Creating a Mashi for Neo Yokai was a special experience. I was inspired by traditional yōkai but wanted to give them a softer, more approachable personality. I like the idea of turning something mysterious or scary into something warm and friendly—like a spirit that protects or quietly watches over you.
