I’ve just watched this video about Motorail, which was something I had never known existed in the past. At the end of the video it is suggested that routes to / from London to Penzance or Inverness may be viable and good ideas in the modern economy.

I was thinking, firstly are those viable, and secondly would it be possible to do routes deeper into Europe via the channel tunnel, but starting further north - maybe places like Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow or Edinburgh
