What is the proper response when someone literally tips their hat to you?

A guy I occasionally see on our local bike trail wears a fedora like some hipster from 2009. Last time I passed him, he did the classic grab the brim and tug it down. I was wearing a baseball cap, but all I did was the bro nod in response.

I'm sure that's fine, but it got me wondering what they actually used to do back in the day. Do both men tug their hat as they pass? What about a man tipping a hat to a woman - what's her response supposed to be?

And what if you're not wearing a hat?

[The Boys] What were the same staff still doing working in the empty facility where Homelander was raised 30+ years later?

There weren't any other test subjects down there, so what were they doing? Apparently the lab was the same, with nothing remodeled or repurposed from Homelander's time.

(And what kind of lame compensation and benefits did Vought have that a scientist couldn't retire comfortably after all that time working on a top secret project?)

This was national news in the US maybe 20 to 30 years ago? A group of high school boys were joyriding in a car and shot a man on a bike. The cyclist reportedly said "ouch" after being shot before dying, which the boys used as an inside joke afterwards. This was brought up in the trial based on confessions from the boys themselves. There was no video of the incident.

Anyone else remember this case? Can only get search engines and AI to bring up the latest news about some kids intentionally ramming a cyclist and filming it.
