Bluey, Bingo, Muffin, and Socks meet the Heelers and the Cattles from the 80s. Forget time travel paradoxes, I like the idea of this as an episode.
What might happen in it, do you reckon?
Whenever I'm reminded of loss or tragedy in Bluey, I can't help but think of Chilli and feel sorry for her. She lost her mum, her first child, and, for a period of time, her sister too. It makes me sad, I've broken down on many nights, but it also makes me wonder, why? Why does one character endure so much loss?
Like the original creator, I was a bit disappointed that Bingo was left out of the final scene in Surprise, and I think they’ve done a great job here, especially since you can recognise that it is indeed Bingo.
For me, I usually think it's the final scene of The Sign. However, while that does cause me to tear up, it's what Chilli said in Sleepytime that left me completely broken two nights ago.
The significant impact didn’t entirely come from the quote itself, but what it made me think about. It’s a very beautiful moment, and one that would most likely stick with Bingo for a very long time. Every kid deserves a memory like that - one that really reminds them of how much their parents care for them. However, when I think about my own childhood compared, I start to crack, because despite being raised well and having good parents, I cannot recall a similar memory, and what really breaks me is the fact that my youth is in the past now and cannot be changed. If you are a parent, give your children memories that really show your love for them, even if it’s just one, because it will most likely stick with them for years to come.

I’ll go first. About a month ago, I found out that The Show was about Chilli’s miscarriage. I had watched the episode before, but I never realised this, and it felt like a slap in the face. Since then, I’ve been reduced to tears several times by nor only that detail, but also the death of Chilli’s Mum (this fan art is just heartbreaking), the episode Sleepytime, the ending of The Sign, and the song Lazarus Drug. I’m not certain why exactly, but my best guess is that it might be due to how overwhelmed those details and scenes make me feel. I can’t remember the last time I’ve watched something that’s had such a strong emotional impact on me, and I’m not one that usually gets emotional, so for a show to break me with multiple elements is quite an achievement.
On the more positive side, when I learnt that detail a month ago and felt like I had been slapped in the face, a few of my bad habits suddenly stopped appealing to me. I don’t know why exactly, but I haven’t continued those habits since, and I feel that it’s benefited me.

Many Bluey fans have tried to figure out the birthdays of characters and the chronology of the show, and I've decided to do the same. While the creators haven’t told us most of this information, they have revealed a few details, and given some clues as well. From these pieces of information, we can make some decent estimations regarding the birthdays of the Heeler family.
I am making multiple assumptions for this analysis to work. The first is that most of the episodes happen within a single calendar year, with a bit of overflow into the year before and the year after. This is because:
Also to keep things simple, I am assuming all birthdays occur in the main calendar year, and that most episodes are in chronological order, with a few exceptions.
I only be using regular episodes for reference (including The Sign (S3 E49)), except for one crucial detail from the Browny Bear minisode, which is Bandit Heeler’s date of birth, 25th October 1978. We can go from here to estimate other dates in the show.
Character birthdays
Movies (S2 E29) has a poster for a movie with a date of 02.02.2020 (2nd February 2020), and a trailer for a bee movie has a date of April 2020. Both dates imply that the episode occurred in late 2019 to early 2020, so out of chronological order - I'm assuming the episode is set in January 2020, so that year will be the main calendar year too.
Omelette (S3 E5) occurs on Bandit’s birthday, so that episode would be set on 25th October 2020, or Bandit’s 42nd birthday.
Bluey Heeler has her 7th birthday in Pass the Parcel (S3 E14), so her year of birth is 2013. That episode aired after Omelette, so her birthday is after Bandit's - most likely mid November to early December.
Bingo Heeler's 5th birthday occurs in Handstand (S2 E45), so her year of birth is 2015. That episode aired before both Bluey's and Bandit's, but after Movies. Queensland law mandates children to be enrolled in Prep at school in the first year where they are 5 years old by 30th June. However, Bingo is still in Kindy after her 5th birthday, meaning the earliest it can be is in July - most likely late August to late September, due to the episode being near the end of season 2.
Chilli Heeler's birthday isn't shown in the series, but she is about 1-2 years younger than Bandit. I'm going to strike a balance at a year and 6 months. This would mean her birthday is in late April, and 1980 is her year of birth. She would turn 40 in 2020.
When the whole show takes place
Now for the whole show chronology. I'm considering Verandah Santa (S1 E52) as the earliest episode chronologically, being set in the year before, so it is set on Christmas Eve 2019. Christmas Swim (S2 E51) is therefore set on Christmas Day 2020. I am considering Surprise (S3 E50) as the last episode chronologically. Despite The Sign being a masterpiece with an ending that managed to break me (a remarkable achievement, since shows and movies almost never have that emotional impact on me), it makes more sense for Surprise to be the final episode - putting it between other episodes doesn't seem right. However, because of the sheer amount of regular episodes across the 3 seasons (154 episodes including The Sign), it would need to be set a few months into 2021 to avoid bunching up all the episodes too much.
The latest that Surprise can be set is 1st April 2021 if we follow the no-repeats assumption (Easter 2021 was on 2nd April 2021, but there is only one Easter episode (S2 E52), which would be set in 2020). This gives a maximum of 465 days (24th December 2019 to 1st April 2021). It's worth pointing out that it's possible to have multiple episodes occurring on one day, one episode occurring over multiple days, and a combination of both. Some episodes can also occur on school days - not just weekends. On that note, Surprise most likely occurred on a weekend day, the latest of which would be Sunday 28th March 2021, so that is the most likely date that it's set on.
Despite this, neither Chilli's birthday nor a second easter are mentioned in the show, so we could make exceptions to the no-repeats assumption. This would allow Surprise to be set on Sunday 30th May 2021 (later dates start to seem unreasonable), which provides a larger maximum of 525 days. However, to keep things simple, I will not do this, and will keep Surprise on Sunday 28th March.
Now obviously I can't talk about chronology and Surprise without talking about the final scene set in the future. I reckon it's set about 23 years after the main events of that episode, so in March 2044, and before any birthdays estimated already. This would mean Bluey is 30, Bingo is 28, Bandit is 65, and Chilli is 63. I am assuming Bluey's child is 5 years old (I'm not going to share my speculation of who the father is - I saw that meme), so when they were born, Bluey would've been 25-26 years old.
I don't think Bingo is a university student. If she was, I would assume she is in her final year of study in a 4-your course, aged 22 (she would've been 18 when she finished her final year of school, and 23 by the time she would finish uni). This brings the entire scene back 6 years, placing it around 17 years into the future, in March 2038. This would mean Bluey would be 24 years old in that scene, and at most 20 when her child was born. Not only is this really young, but it also contradicts a family photo in that scene of Bluey's university graduation, which does not include her child. Therefore, Bluey graduated university before before having her child.
There are some inconsistencies across episodes, however. As mentioned before, the trailer for the bee movie in Movies (S2 E29) has a date of April 2020, implying the episode is possibly set in January that year. However, Bandit's driver's license in the minisode Browny Bear was issued on 5th September 2022 - a difference of at least 31 months between the two. However, because Movies is a regular episode, while Browny Bear is a minisode, I used the former as a reference for the calendar year - otherwise Omelette would occur on Bandit's 44th birthday, which would make him a bit too old, if I'm honest. And then there's Pass the Parcel. While I am using that episode as a reference for Bluey's birthday, the events of the entire episode span across several months. But because this would complicate the timeline, I'm ignoring most of the other events. I should also point out that I'm assuming the events of Cricket (S3 E47) happen on Bluey's 7th birthday.
Summary
This is a mix of facts and opinions, so it's far from perfect, and there will be errors. You may have different opinions on these dates - share them if you want - but this what makes the most sense to me, at least. What do you think?

Chaytor St bus stop at Appleton Park. I mean we can get off at the previous stop, but that’s on the other side of the tunnel, which makes that option inconvenient for some people. I think the Chaytor St stop opposite Curtis St should be made a temporary zone boundary stop, until this stop reopens.
