Shared my free racing site here a while back, been busy adding to it since
Some of you might remember I posted about this a while ago. The feedback I got was genuinely useful, so I kept chipping away at it and wanted to show where it's got to.
Quick recap for anyone new: I'm a bit of a data nerd who got sick of paying for racing tools, so I started building my own and it snowballed. It's free, no account, and I'm not selling tips, so this isn't that kind of post. Mostly I just want people who know their racing to poke holes in it.
It rates every runner out of 100. Full transparency on whether those ratings hold up, so you can see for yourself if the thing is any good rather than taking my word for it.
A few bits for UK and Ireland that people seem to miss:
- A tool where you can just dig through old results yourself, sort trainers, jockeys, course specialists, whatever you're curious about
- A one-page view of today's angles (course and distance winners, horses proven on the ground, in-form yards)
- Follow a horse and it emails you when it's declared to run
The big addition since last time is the US side:
- Cards and results for the main tracks
- Where favourites actually win and where they get you (the big-name tracks are not kind)
- Track biases, par times, and best bets from a few named experts, all tracked so you can see how they do.
Start point if you fancy a look: theoverlay.co.uk
And not to forget virtual betting - search the racecards and bet risk free !
Still very much a work in progress, so tell me if something's broken or useless. And if there's a stat or angle you wish existed, say so, I can usually build it.
Cheers - Matt
