In The Masons?

I recently received the first Symbolic Degree of Freemasonry. The other day a friend asked me if I was "in the Masons." Since I'm not yet a MM I was at a little of a loss as to how to respond. I don't wear any Masonic jewelry or clothing. What should I say?

Travelling

New Mason here, based in the U.S., retiree. We travel internationally a lot and I'm interested in experiencing international Masonry, in fact it's one of the reasons I joined. How exactly do you gain admission to a foreign lodge? Is there a set procedure? I'm mainly interested in English speaking lodges, and perhaps in the Philippines, where I once lived. Any advice is appreciated.

Scottish Rite Question

New Mason here. I recently joined a Lodge near where I reside. I grew up in a town in another state that has a strong Scottish Rite presence and I still feel attached to that town. I have even contributed financially to that SR. I fully plan on attending and contributing to my local Blue Lodge far into the future. What I'm wondering is, after an appropriate time, would I be able to join the SR in my home town in another jurisdiction? And would it cause hard feelings among the Brethren in my Blue Lodge? Thanks.

In The UK

I was recently travelling in England by car and on the road passed a smallish stone building. I noticed there was a square and compasses engraved in the lintel over the doorway. Would this likely be a masonic lodge, or a private dwelling?

Fish And Chips

I love fish and chips. Who makes the best? IMO its the R&C and their takeout window. We just got back from UK and it seems like the chippies are few and far between now. Luckily I can get fresh cod here and I have a good recipe.

Which Is The Best Appendant Body

After I'm raised I plan to take the Scottish Rite degrees. My hometown is the site of the world's largest SR temple. I also think Grotto looks intriguing. Any opinions?
