I built PerfectCalc because I still wanted more from a calculator
Hi r/iOSApp! I’m the developer of PerfectCalc. I released it about five years ago, while working a busy day job, and spent a lot of my spare time building it. Codex has made coding much faster for me recently, but I still spend a lot of time thinking through which features would actually be useful.
A: What it does
PerfectCalc is an all-in-one calculator for everyday use. Alongside standard and scientific calculations, it includes fractions, currency conversion, unit conversion, number-base conversion, reusable formulas, a BMI calculator, a mortgage calculator, finance calculations, a tip calculator, and date calculations.
B: How it’s better
There are countless calculator apps on both iOS and Android, but I’ve always found something missing from the ones I’ve tried. Apple’s Calculator has improved a lot since the days when you couldn’t see your calculation steps, yet it still isn’t quite the calculator I want.
For me, a great calculator needs a sensible keypad, results that update as you type, visible calculation history that you can sum, an easy way to edit an expression, and scientific functions. It should also have useful extras—like currencies, fractions, unit conversion, mortgages, and finance tools—even if I don’t need them every day.
That’s what I’ve tried to bring together in PerfectCalc. One feature I’m especially proud of is the f button in the upper-left corner: it lets you save equations you use often and quickly run them again with new values.
C: Cost
Every feature is free to use, though the app shows ads. If you like PerfectCalc and want to keep using it, go to Settings in the app, scroll to the bottom, and tap the small copy button to the right of Application ID. Paste that ID in a comment on this post, and when I see it, I’ll remove ads for your ID permanently on the backend.

I’d love to hear what you think. If you have suggestions after using it, you can also leave me a review on the App Store.
