Anyone else thought that bedwetting actually meant wetting the bed

I had a appointment with a urologist recently because my bedwetting went from infrequent to every night.

Until I was 10 I used to wet every night it went down in frequency (turns out it didn’t…)

When the urologist asked me if I was getting the bed completely wet or just a few drops in my underwear I discovered that I never even stopped wetting the bed everyday

I mentioned that I would always wake up with some dampness in my underwear not enough to transfer to bedsheets but turns out that counts as bedwetting.

So she straight up told me that I never stopped wetting the bed every night just went down in the amount I was peeing until last October when it started being full voids again, which is “good” because it never stopped so it’s not something new but still needs looking at.

TLDR: Any amount of urine leakage is considered bedwetting

Finally went to a appointment

First of all, I feel so stupid for being too afraid to say something for so long.

I told her the whole story. Until I was around 10 years old, I used to wet the bed every night. It slowly went down in frequency to at most once or twice every two months, and it stayed that way until last October (when I was 22, I'm 23 now).

She confirmed what I already knew: it's primary bedwetting. She wanted to be sure it wasn't an infection , so we did a test, and it came back negative.

Something I wasn't expecting, and it never really even registered as a problem to me, was when she asked if, before October, I was 100% dry or if I had some dampness in the morning. I told her yes, but it was barely noticeable. She straight up told me that it's still considered bedwetting, so I guess the frequency never actually went down, only the quantity.

We also went over whether I have any problems during the day. I told her yes, I sometimes randomly leak. It doesn't happen every day and it's minor, but it's another thing I've always had.

I also mentioned to her that while I was on a one-week vacation with my family, I didn’t wet the bed by stopping all liquids 8 hours before sleep and it actually kind of worked I only had minor dampness. She got a little annoyed with me for doing that, though, and explained why it's not a healthy or proper solution and to never do that again specially during the summer.

She didn’t put me on any meds because of my SWCAH (Salt-Wasting Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia). She wants me to have my appointment which is only in 5 weeks (yay overwhelmed healthcare system) with my endocrinologist first, because apparently most standard medications for bedwetting aren't ideal for someone with my condition.

Only thing im afraid of is that it’s something that is either unfixable or that the endocrinologist will say no to the meds because of the risk for someone like me which from what I researched it’s likely to happen.

Anybody else with SWCAH struggles with wetting the bed?

Hi everyone,
I’m 23 male and have SWCAH and have taken hydro and fludro since birth. One thing I have always struggled with, in varying frequencies, is bedwetting.
Until I was 10, I used to wet the bed almost every night. It slowly reduced in frequency to the point that I almost didn’t consider it an issue anymore (at most, once every month or so). It stayed that way until last year. However, starting in March, the frequency began increasing again. By September, I was wetting the bed almost every night, and it has stayed that way since.
I had an appointment with my endo in January, so I decided to wait to bring it up then. But when the appointment actually came, I just couldn’t manage to work up the courage to mention it…
I know it was completely moronic and I should have brought it up back then, but I didn’t, and I still haven’t.
I have another appointment coming up in 6 weeks, and this time I know I have to bring it up. I’m not panicking or scared because I've never gone through a period of 6+ months of being completely dry (which is the medical criteria for it not being primary bedwetting), so I know it’s not a sudden issue that would make me worry.

Has anyone else with SWCAH experienced anything like this?
Also any tips on how to not chicken out again would be appreciated
