Lady, It's RTS 🫩

On 5/16, this old lady came in looking for a script. I remembered she came in earlier in the week and she had 6 scripts ready for pickup. She didn't want to pick up any of them up. She said she's looking for a 7th. There's a note on the one that shes looking for and it already says its RTS until 5/17, but I run it through insurance again anyway. I tell her it very clearly says RTS until 5/17. She's very agitated and said someone told her to come back 5/16.

Imma be honest, I think I was the one who spoke to her earlier in the week, but I dont remember telling her to come back on 5/16. I remember she came in with her husband and there was an issue with his scripts as well. I dont remember any details. I don't know for sure if anyone told her to come back 5/16, but we don't just pick an arbitrary day to waste your time. Anyway, I'm trying to be super polite still, I tell her "I understand it's frustrating..." and she goes "No, you DONT understand".

First of all, who are YOU to tell me what I do and do not understand? 💀 Since when do YOU get to dictate my OWN experiences. Obviously, I didn't say all that. I told her that her insurance isn't going to cover it, and unless she wanted to pay cash price, there's nothing I could do at the moment. Then she goes, "I don't blame my doctor, I don't blame my insurance, I blame Walgreens!". And I'm just standing there staring at her like ok...? I'm usually really polite and try to explain thoroughly when applicable. This is the first time I've geuinely given someone the gen Z stare. Like lady, I dont give a DAMN whose fault you THINK it is 😭. I'm TELLING you, your INSURANCE isnt going to cover it. Also according to our records, she still has like a 2 week supply left 😭. It's not like shes out of meds nor did she claim as such. I recommended she use the app, I recommmend she call insurance, ofc she didnt wanna do any of that.

And ofc she didnt pick up her 6 other scripts bc she wants to pick them all up at the same time. Which I get, but also its taking up a lot of space 🫩 And then shes like "I don't want to receive any phone calls threatening to put my scripts away. I'm busy tomorrow." Is checking the app, and making a phone call really that hard? 🫩

Hot take, but TAs that don't let their students know ahead of time if they are planning to strike and what to expect regarding their class/discussion is just disrespectful. I support the strike, I believe they deserve equal pay from these greedy corporations, but at the same time you're not responding to my emails and you didn't tell us if you're still planning to hold class? I'm a commuter, I have a 3 hour gap between my morning class and your class. Am I just supposed to wait or take a wild guess? Not sure if the lack of email response is due to the strike or for other reasons. Also lack of communication from professors, so part of it is also on them.

Update (I guess): Just received an email from the TA saying the discussion and quiz was cancelled by the professors.
