Multiple ganglion cysts inside my wrist – what has helped you?

Hi everyone!

I’ve had wrist pain for several years, and an MRI showed 2–3 small ganglion cysts inside my wrist/joint. They aren’t really visible from the outside, so they’re not the typical big lump you can see on the wrist.

My wrist gets painful with repetitive movements and when I have to grip something for longer periods. This has unfortunately meant that I’ve had to stop doing hobbies I really love, such as crocheting, knitting and embroidery. Writing for longer periods can also make my hand cramp and aggravate my wrist.

I’ve tried using a wrist brace, but honestly I didn’t notice any real improvement from it. I continued using it for a while anyway, but I’ve stopped using it now.

I also had an injection into the wrist, which helped significantly for about 6 months, but unfortunately the pain eventually returned.

I’m now wondering what other options there might be, and I’d really like to hear from other people who have dealt with something similar.

What treatments have you tried?

– Did anything actually help long-term?

– Have you had surgery, and if so, was it worth it?

– Have you found ways to keep doing hobbies or other activities without making your wrist worse?

I’d especially love to hear from people with occult/deep ganglion cysts that aren’t visible from the outside.

Thanks! ❤️
