Love my 07 e90 328i but I think I want something boosted. What do yall recommend better for daily driving a n54 e90 or an n55 e90? I still wanna have some fun (push it, drift/slide, launch) but love the reliability of the n52. I heard the n54 is more reliable for making power because of the forged pistons and camshaft (might be wrong about what is forged) but I’ve also heard the n55 is more reliable for daily driving but is weaker internally. Heard a story that you can’t drift the n55 because the oil will get sucked inside of somewhere and you can mess up your engine (don’t know if that’s true also) but I’m really stuck on which one to get. Any suggestions? I do all the work myself, unless it’s engine related, so I don’t mind replacing things that need to be replaced.

I just changed my battery like two weeks ago, it was doing it before but when I changed the battery it stopped. When it makes the clicking noise all of the lights flicker and when I get out of the car and lock it (with auto headlights on) they stay on after I lock it. No idea why it does that, anyone know?

I know the lifter tick is known to be loud on the n52s but just wondering if it sounds healthy (at 6k rpm).

Only happens when I put the key in or take it out. I hear it coming from my fuse box area behind the glove box. Lights flicker as seen in the video and sometimes my lights will stay on being on the off mode or automatic mode when I lock the car. Anyone know anything?

This weird ticking noise started to pop up frm time to time and when it does it causes my lights to flicker. Any ideas?

Was driving and put it in manual/sport mode to push it a lil and found out I can’t shift down, only up. Never done this before, i usually do it almost every time I drive but this time it doesn’t shift down. Lent the car to someone n gonna ask if they did something but i have no clue what they could’ve done. Any ideas? Appreciate the help!

Anyone got an idea why it’s still sputtering to start? About 2 months ago I replace the crankshaft sensor, which I got a code for and was mainly the problem with sputtering, but almost every time I "cold start" it sputters like seen in the video. After I turn the car off and leave it sitting for about 10-15 minutes and start it up again it starts up perfectly fine without any sputtering, but if it’s left alone for a while it sputters. At the moment I have no codes for anything related to the crankshaft, camshaft, or starter. Spark is good aswell.

I think this is the place to put the bike/luggage holder. Was thinking about wrapping it black but wondering if anyone had any other ideas.

My local junkyard has a e90 with this aftermarket screen and I want to get it but honestly don’t know if it’s too risky to get it. Obviously this car doesn’t have the Idrive system so Ik it will fit perfectly in my car (I don’t have I drive either) but I’m mainly concerned about grabbing every wire, the I drive controller pad, bracket, and wtv else I need to make sure it fits in my car and works perfectly fine. Think it’s worth it?

Engine noise that only is there at idle. Whenever I press the throttle or drive the noise goes away, but when I’m at idle it sounds like that. No I don’t know that the fast ticking is the lifters (most likely not going to replace because there’s no benefit or loss) but there’s another slower rattle and a kind of high pitched noise. If u think uk anything please lmk 🙏🏾
