B8.5 RS4 - CRS Performance Koni Shocks

Like many here, the DRC dampers in my recently purchased RS4 were complete toast. After a ridiculous quote from the main dealer and lots of research on coilover kits, I ended using CRS Performance (UK) who supply and fit Koni active dampers that they’ve adjusted for the B8 S4/RS4/RS5s etc (they also do the same kit for B7s)

I specifically wanted to keep stock ride height, so just opted for the Koni shocks with stock springs.

Made a massive difference and is actually still usable as a daily dog wagon.

Would recommend if you’re UK based as they are a very knowledgeable bunch who live and breathe these cars.

Rust bubbles / corrosion expected ? B8 RS4

Hi there!

Looking at buying what otherwise looks to be a gorgeous 2013 B8 RS4 Avant with around 80,000 miles, but these small rust bubbles plus the corroded fuel pump is giving me some doubts.

Otherwise a clean car with good service history and well maintained…

Thoughts ?

Considering a B8.5 RS4, talk me into or out of it

Thinking about pulling the trigger on a B8.5 RS4 and wanted some real world input from people who’ve actually owned one.

Currently in an A4 Allroad, brilliant car but I’m just bored. Had an 8Y RS3 before and miss it every day.

The NA V8 in an estate feels like something that’s never coming back and values on good examples seem to be creeping up so feels like the right time.

Looking at 2012-2015, around 75-85k miles with FSH. Doesn’t have to be main dealer, happy with VAG specialists. Suspension is a big one for me, DRC dampers are a known money pit so ideally want one that’s already been converted to coilovers.

Anyone who’s bought one already sorted vs one that needed doing, was it worth the premium?

Fully aware of the running costs, not worried about tyres and brakes and fuel. It’s more the catastrophic stuff I want to avoid by buying the right car from the start.

Cheers!
