Trying to actually learn to cook instead of just making pasta and eggs forever. Went on Udemy and there are hundreds of options, not sure where to start.

I'm a complete beginner, don't even hold a knife properly. I want something structured that builds on itself and actually explains why you're doing something, not just recipe videos to follow along with.

Anyone taken a course that was genuinely worth it? Got burned before by ones that looked good in the reviews but the instructor just reads off a script or never answers questions. Also curious if it's better to get one full course or a few smaller ones for specific stuff like knife skills, sauces, etc.

Appreciate any recommendation, trying not to waste money on the wrong one.

Went out with friends last Tuesday. Nothing special, just one of those places where you think it'll be cheap and then somehow it isn't. My share came to $85. Added tip, paid $100, went home.

Didn't think about it at all.

That same night Udemy sends me a notification. Courses on sale from $9.99. And I don't know why but it just sat with me.

I bought four courses during their sale last year. Python, SQL, system design, AWS basics. Paid maybe $51 total. One of them helped me get comfortable with data stuff, I started doing reporting at work that wasn't my job, eventually turned into a title change.

I spent more than that on a meal I have zero memory of.

And I remember hesitating on the courses. Opened the cart, got distracted, came back to it two days later. The dinner I just showed up to.

Anyway.

Glad I caught wind of it early from this subreddit honestly, would've missed it otherwise.

Anyone else go way overboard? My library is just sitting there judging me at this point.

Also does anyone think they're going to extend the date? Asking for a friend (the friend is me and my unfinished courses).

I cannot stop taking courses and I don’t even feel bad about it.

Every time I open Twitter or YouTube it’s just recycled garbage that sounds smart but teaches you nothing. You finish a video and you’re like… what did I actually just learn.

Udemy is different. Real person, did the thing, shows you the thing. That’s it.

Started with one course. Now I have 12 in my queue and I genuinely look forward to sitting down with them more than anything else I do online.

Idk man. Feels like I finally found the good stuff.

Anyone else been on this lately? What courses got you?

What are the skills required to be a Software Engineer AI. Please suggest the best courses on Generative AI, LLMs, Langchain, Hugging face and other skills.

Udemy preferred, but other platforms also fine.
