Udemy and Coursera are too expensive

I’m sure you can probably relate to this. The subscription prices for Educational platforms like Udemy and Coursera are a bit much. Which leaves no time or money for other platforms like YouTube, Amazon, Netflix and Paramount. I think some people even have music streaming services like Spotify and Audible. All in all too much money being spent on subscription and not enough time to utilize all available services.

What is wrong with my offer?

To respect the rules of this forum, I will not share my course link. I would also like to remain anonymous.

All of my revenue currently comes from the "Udemy Promotions" channel. I have zero direct sales, and the Google Ads I've run haven't brought in any conversions either. I am trying to figure out why people are buying through Udemy's promotions but not directly from outside traffic. Does it purely have to do with the price point?

Previously, I gave the course away for free, which brought in about 1,300 students in total. I assume this means there is at least some interest in my topic, but for some reason, the landing page or the positioning isn't converting paid external traffic.

Can anyone help me understand why I am only getting sales through Udemy Promotions and absolutely nothing through any other channel?

Thanks!

Perhaps the most annoying user experience of all time.

New to Udemy. Starting a new job in a few weeks so I wanted to check out some courses from a creator I trust on some relevant skills. Since he has a bunch of courses that looked potentially useful, I decided to pay for one month of the personal plan to be able to cycle through them easily.

After paying, I notice that I only have access to one course. All of his other courses are still listed at full price. There's also no way to see which courses are actually part of the personal plan, which maybe I should have checked for beforehand, but the website makes it seem like a ton of courses come free with the plan.

I check my email inbox, no notification that I paid. I check my subscriptions tab, nothing there. This entire time, the website appears as though I haven't actually paid for the plan, but I know I must have because I still have access to the original course.

I look for a customer support link, literally doesn't exist. There's just a separate "community" tab where you can probably "talk" to a bot that makes you want to rip your hair out.

Wtf?? If I wanted to design a website that would maximally frustrate a new user, I don't think I could come up with something like this. Save your money, the personal plan is straight up garbage.

[FREE] I built a practical course to help you quiet your inner critic and stop negative thought loops. (Only 27 free spots left!)

If your biggest obstacle right now isn't your skills or experience, but the anxious, doubting voice in your own head—I created something for you.

I just launched a course called Self-Talk Mastery: Stop Negative Thoughts & Build Confidence, and it is designed specifically to help you take back control of your inner dialogue.

This isn't generic "just think positive" advice. It’s a practical toolkit of evidence-informed methods. Here is a quick look at what you will learn:

  • Real-time Reframing: How to catch and stop your inner critic before it sabotages a decision.
  • Audio/Mental Hacks: How adjusting the tone and tempo of your inner voice—and using sound cues—can immediately lower anxiety.
  • Daily Momentum: A simple 5-minute morning self-talk routine to start your day with unshakeable confidence.

Whether you're a professional dealing with imposter syndrome, a freelancer battling perfectionism, or just someone who wants to manage stress and think more clearly, these tools are built to bypass mental resistance and actually stick.

I am giving away free access to the community, but there are only 27 free enrollments left. Once they are claimed, the promo expires!
