Update still shedding!

I just wanted to make an update to document my journey as someone with ongoing shedding (in the 8th month now). I search for other posts about this length of TE/shedding so hoping someone can relate!

I have posts on my page which show results from my blood test in May but I have been keeping up iron and vit d supplements since.

My hair is still shedding, however, looking back at old photos of hair fall it’s definitely reduced. I am shedding more short hairs now though but I wonder if this is short cycling and any regrowth that grew when I was deficient is falling out?

I have contacted my gp again asking for referral to a dermatologist as I want to check for signs of aga. I am concerned as my part is widening and scalp is becoming much more visible in the part line. I’m not surprised though as the amount of hair I have lost is insane. I don’t have other symptoms of pcos or high androgens so i am hoping it is just an awful course of TE recovering from low iron, vit d and folate.

Just trying to hang in there and hope i’m close to the end :(

Updated blood test results and TE progress

I received my blood test results today and i’m so happy with the progress i’m making!

I’m on my 6th month of TE and still see shedding but also a lot of new regrowth coming in.

As you can see I was deficient in ferritin, folate and vitamin d back in november 2025 - i believe this is the cause of my TE.

I have only been supplementing iron since february and only with generic daily 14mg iron tablet in the morning, novomins iron gummies 20mg in the afternoon. I did also go through 2 bottles of mary ruth’s liquid iron before switching to novomins gummies just because i was getting sick of the liquid formula taste.

I also take a vitamin d gummy a few times a week and i am on prescription folic acid 5mg.

I’m really really please that it all seems to be working and guess it’s just a waiting game now to see shedding stop.

Recovery stories TE 6 months plus

My TE has been going on for about 6 months now and i’m not really seeing any sign of shedding slowing down.

I have always had really thick wavy hair so thankfully I still appear to others with no obvious signs of hair loss but I’m probably down to like 40% density left and starting to go crazy.

I believe my triggers are low ferritin, vit d and folate. I am on supplements for all since about February.

I’m looking for hope from anyone else who has had TE for over 6 months now and when you saw an improvement?
