Does grippee holes in pages affect the grade?

Sold a high grade run of Death in the family for 70 dollars on the bay. Buyer wanted 20 dollar refund for gripper holes claiming book was damaged. I said return them i will offer full refund which he declined. Books were spotless not a single tick.
