My little Pégase collection

Finally put all my Pégase charms together for a little family photo. I didn’t realize how different they looked until I saw all the colors side by side.

Some are soft and sweet, some are much brighter, and each one gives a bag a completely different personality. Honestly, seeing them all together just makes me want to keep collecting more 😭

Graphite Matte Croc Mini Kelly II with GHW from Miss An

I just received this Graphite matte croc Mini Kelly II from Miss An, so I haven’t actually taken it out yet. First impression though — the color is even better in person. Indoors it almost looks black, but once the light hits it, the grey tone and croc texture show up much more clearly.

The capacity made me laugh a little 😂 I knew Mini Kelly was tiny, but seeing it in person really puts things into perspective. I feel like once I add a cardholder, lipstick, keys and a couple of small things, it’s basically going to be full. I’m planning to take it out for dinner with friends tomorrow, so that’ll be my first proper test. I’m also thinking of getting a small bag insert for it so everything stays in place.

Before ordering, I asked Miss An quite a few questions about the Graphite color because it looked different in every photo I found. She sent me extra photos under different lighting and let me compare the scale placement before I decided. I also asked her to show me the charm styles and colors she had, and ended up choosing my two favorites to add to the order.

For now I’m very happy with how everything turned out. Tomorrow will be the real test — although with this capacity, I may have to seriously rethink what counts as an “essential”

How should I use my first bag?

This B30 in Bordeaux Nilo Crocodile with GHW from Miss An literally arrived today, so these are very much first impressions.

I’d been thinking about a Bordeaux croc Birkin for a long time, but kept hesitating over the B30 size. I wasn’t sure if this combination would feel a little too formal. Miss An showed me a few different scale layouts while we were discussing it, and that was what finally pushed me to go for it.

Seeing it in person today, I’m really glad I chose the B30. The larger front panel gives the croc pattern much more room to show, and Bordeaux changes quite a bit depending on the light — sometimes it reads as a deep wine red, and from another angle the red comes through much more. I also spent probably too much time checking the front scales when I opened the box 😅

I was definitely pickier than usual with this order and asked Miss An quite a few questions before confirming. She sent extra photos and gave me time to look everything over, which I appreciated.

Now I just need to figure out where I’m actually going to carry this one. If it were yours, what kind of occasion would you bring it out for?

One-Day Wear Test — Hermès Oran Sandals

I wore these purple croc Orans from Miss An for a full day instead of just trying them on at home, and I definitely like them more after actually wearing them out.

I originally hesitated over the color and sizing, so I asked Miss An quite a few questions before ordering. She sent me extra photos and helped me confirm the size, which ended up being right for me.

For the actual wear test: the H strap holds my foot well, and I didn’t get any obvious rubbing around my toes or sides. After a few hours, I could feel a little pressure across the top of my foot, so I think they still need some breaking in. The purple croc also looks much better in natural light — I caught myself looking down at them way too many times 😂

Current rating: 8.5/10.
Minus a little for the stiffness after several hours, but overall I’m really happy with this pair and the experience with Miss An.

Is this crack normal on shiny crocodile leather?

I noticed this line on my shiny crocodile Kelly 25 and now I can’t stop staring at it. The rest of the bag looks fine, but this area on the flap feels a little more raised and the gap looks wider than on my other bags.

I don’t have much experience with crocodile leather, so I honestly can’t tell if this is just part of the natural scale pattern or something I should worry about.

Has anyone seen this before? Does it look normal to you?

Quick thoughts on this pink B25 from Mo

Had this B25 for a few days now and I’m liking it more than I thought I would.

The shape was the first thing I checked when it arrived. It looks clean from the front, the handles sit evenly, and the hardware doesn’t feel loose. The pink is definitely bright, but with a plain grey or black outfit it actually works.

I asked Mo quite a few questions before settling on this one, mostly about the shape and stitching. She was easy to communicate with and sent what I asked for without making it complicated.

No huge complaints so far. I’m just realizing I need to stop putting it down next to dark denim 😅

Overall: 9/10.

Pink Is Not Just Pink: A Guide to Hermès Pink Leather Colors

3Q Rose Sakura — The Soft & Romantic Pink

https://preview.redd.it/jozdz7k9aphh1.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b1f873e2a9680aebbff7ab756621531f74b10c2d

Rose Sakura is one of the most iconic Hermès pink colors.

Released in 2015, it quickly became popular because of its delicate pastel tone. It has a soft and elegant feeling, almost like the color of cherry blossoms in spring.

Rose Sakura is a very gentle pink that feels feminine without being too bright.

Swift leather

  • Smooth surface
  • More luminous and soft appearance

Chevre leather

  • Adds subtle texture
  • Keeps the elegant pastel feeling

Epsom leather

  • Cleaner and more structured
  • Makes the color look sharper

M7 Rose Darling — The Modern Soft Pink

Rose Darling is a newer pink compared with Rose Sakura.

https://preview.redd.it/a6j6riajcphh1.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ea6704e8c95122f987a2783173c9333c2b565bc6

It has a cooler and more neutral tone, sometimes appearing between soft pink and light lavender under natural light.

For collectors who love pink but want something more understated, Rose Chevre
creates a refined textured appearance.

Swift
makes the color softer and more delicate.

Epsom
gives a structured and polished feeling.

09 Mauve Pale — The Elegant Neutral Pink

https://preview.redd.it/4v0osqbscphh1.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5f549713e4949dea0c20b59066d6e680dca3e87e

Mauve Pale is a very special shade.

It is not a traditional pink. It carries a subtle grey and lavender undertone, creating a calm and sophisticated feeling.

Different leathers completely change the mood:

Togo / TC

  • Casual and soft

Swift

  • Highlights the dreamy pastel tone

Epsom

  • Creates a clean structured look

Alligator

  • Adds depth through the natural scale pattern

X9 Mauve Sylvestre — The Balanced Mauve Pink

https://preview.redd.it/l4mt1iy1dphh1.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7432f0fe6c0a0f7d4bfd41e19fbf88bd0922af46

Mauve Sylvestre sits between soft pink and deeper mauve.

Compared with Rose Sakura, it has more depth. Compared with brighter pinks, it remains elegant and easy to style.

It is a great option for collectors who want:

  • A little more personality
  • More mature elegance
  • A color that works for daily use

5P Bubblegum Pink — The Statement Pink

https://preview.redd.it/9zmd33k8dphh1.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b06ce38a1b40570bf766a4950c1780716046b638

5P is one of the most recognizable Hermès pink shades.

Compared with Rose Sakura, it has stronger saturation and a much more playful personality.

It looks especially interesting on exotic leather:

Alligator

  • Creates a luxurious and dramatic effect

Ostrich

  • Adds a unique texture

Swift

  • Creates a smooth and vibrant appearance

Leather Changes Everything

Many people compare Hermès colors only by the color name, but leather can completely change the final result.

For example:

Swift

  • smoother
  • more luminous
  • color appears deeper

Epsom

  • structured
  • sharper color definition
  • more polished appearance

Togo / TC

  • softer texture
  • more casual feeling

Chevre

  • fine texture
  • elegant and lightweight appearance

Exotic leather

  • adds depth because of the natural pattern

The “same” pink can look like a completely different color depending on the leather.

Personally, I think choosing a Hermès pink is not only about the shade itself. The combination of color + leather + hardware is what creates the final personality of the bag.

If you were choosing a pink Hermès bag, which one would you pick?

Rose Sakura, Rose Darling, Mauve Pale, Mauve Sylvestre, or Bubblegum Pink?

Did Hermès really give me designer bandages?

They gave me these colorful “bandages” and seriously told me they would look cute with my Mini Kelly. I stood there trying to figure out whether they were actual bandages or just decorative stickers.

Maybe I’m missing something, but honestly, I felt like they were messing with me. Has anyone else received these before?

That green Kelly I didn’t think I needed…

I wasn’t actually looking for another Kelly.

I already have a few, and I told myself I was done with structured bags for a while. Then I saw this green croc finish and completely caved.

I reached out to Mo mainly because I wanted to see if the colour would translate well in real life. Sometimes greens can turn out too bright, too dark, or just off in indoor light. He sent me a few reference photos and said this one reads very close to the original inspiration.

The process was longer than I expected, but not in a bad way. There were a few moments where I asked to double-check the hardware placement and the edge finishing, and he was patient about it.

When I opened the bag, the first thing I noticed was the colour. It’s green, but it’s not loud. It has that deep, polished croc effect that works both with neutrals and with darker outfits. The gold hardware feels substantial, and the clasp closes nicely.

I don’t know if this makes sense, but it doesn’t really feel like a “custom bag” in the generic sense. It feels more like something I would have found and kept for years.

I told myself this was the last one.

Now I’m already looking at a different colourway.

Black Alligator Chypre Sandals( Miss An

I recently received these Chypre sandals in black alligator leather from Miss An. They were a small surprise gift for my son.

I chose the Chypre because he likes simple and comfortable shoes, and the alligator leather detail made them a little more special. Before ordering, I discussed the size and details with Miss An, and she helped me confirm the options. After receiving them, the leather texture and overall finishing looked good.

My son was happy with the gift, and the whole process with Miss An was smooth.

I either buy nothing… or buy bags in batches

Anniversary month is coming around again, so I’ve started looking at bags.

After buying Hermès for more than ten years, I know exactly what works for me. I only choose pieces I genuinely like and never follow trends. Sometimes I won’t buy anything for years, but once I start, I usually pick several colors at the same time.

My shopping pattern is pretty extreme: nothing for ages, then suddenly buying in batches. Is anyone else like this?

A Kelly II from Miss An.

I recently received this Kelly 25 Sellier in Rose Confetti Epsom with PHW from Miss An.

Before ordering, I discussed the color, leather and hardware options with Miss An, and she shared additional photos to help me compare. After receiving it, I checked the Sellier structure, Epsom texture, stitching and hardware details, and everything was consistent with the PSPs.

This was my first Kelly in this color, and I’m happy with the result.

Miss An Mini Kelly II M8 Gris Asphalte Ostrich with GHW

Miss An just sent me the PSPs for this Mini Kelly II in M8 Gris Asphalte ostrich leather with GHW.

I’ve always liked bags that are simple but have a little something special, and this Mini Kelly caught my attention because of the ostrich leather. The texture gives the grey color more depth, and I think the gold hardware works really well with it.

I also asked Miss An to add some more lifestyle photos to see how it looks in a more natural setting.

Since this is my first ostrich Mini Kelly, I’d really appreciate any opinions before I GL. Thank you!

Looking for the “perfect” Hermès Birkin or Kelly? Here’s what most people misunderstand about quality

One question I see constantly in bag communities is:

“How do I find the highest quality Birkin or Kelly?”

I completely understand why people ask this.

These bags are known for incredible craftsmanship, unique materials, and very high attention to detail. Naturally, everyone wants the best possible experience when choosing one.

But after seeing many different examples and discussions, I think there is one important thing people should understand:

There is a big difference between something that looks close in photos and something that truly matches the full experience of a luxury handcrafted piece.

A lot of people focus on the obvious details:

stamp placement

stitching appearance

color matching

hardware shine

leather texture

These things are important, but they are only part of the story.

The details that usually separate a good piece from an average one are often the things people don’t immediately notice:

How the leather feels after months of use.

Whether the structure stays balanced over time.

How the edges age.

How the hardware interacts with daily wear.

The consistency of the finishing from every angle.

One thing I’ve learned is that “premium” is a very broad word.

Different people use it to describe different things.

For some people, it means:

the closest visual appearance

For others, it means:

better materials

stronger construction

more refined finishing

better long-term experience

Those are not always the same thing.

Another common misunderstanding is thinking that a higher price automatically means a better result.

Price can reflect many factors:

materials

production methods

craftsmanship

availability

market positioning

But the most expensive option is not always the one that fits your needs best.

Personally, I think the best approach is to learn how these bags are actually made.

Understand:

different Hermès leathers

how craftsmanship affects the final result

what details matter over time

which features are important for your lifestyle

The more knowledge you have, the easier it becomes to make a decision based on facts instead of only marketing words.

At the end of the day, there is no “perfect” Birkin or Kelly for everyone.

The right choice depends on what you value most:
appearance, leather character, structure, durability, or collecting experience.

Curious what everyone thinks:

When choosing a Birkin or Kelly, what matters most to you — leather, craftsmanship, color, or the overall feeling of the bag?

The Discontinued Rare Leather That Collectors Still Search For

I recently went down a rabbit hole researching rare Hermès leathers, and Chevre Vibrato might be one of the most fascinating examples of Hermès craftsmanship.

For those unfamiliar, Chevre Vibrato is a discontinued Hermès leather technique that is highly sought after by collectors today. Unlike traditional single-piece leathers, Vibrato is created by layering extremely thin slices of goatskin onto a leather base, creating a unique striped, layered texture.

What makes it special is that every piece has its own natural pattern. The direction, spacing, and color variation of the layers create a look that almost feels like wood grain or a piece of abstract art. No two Vibrato pieces look exactly the same.

Why collectors love Chevre Vibrato:

  1. A rare and complex craftsmanship technique

Creating Vibrato requires exceptional precision. The thin goatskin layers must be carefully selected, cut, and aligned so they follow the shape of the bag without disrupting the structure.

  1. A completely unique appearance

Unlike many Hermès leathers where collectors focus on color and texture, Vibrato has an additional element: the pattern itself. The natural variation makes every bag feel like a one-of-one piece.

  1. A discontinued Hermès leather

Since Vibrato is no longer produced, collectors usually find these pieces through vintage markets and secondary collections. The limited availability has made it one of the more interesting discontinued Hermès materials.

  1. Lightweight and distinctive character

Many collectors also appreciate that Vibrato has a different feel compared with classic leathers like Togo or Clemence. It has a unique texture, visual depth, and a more artistic presence.

Personally, I think Chevre Vibrato represents a different side of Hermès craftsmanship — less about the classic understated luxury, and more about experimental leather artistry.

Hermès Hardware Engraving Is Becoming Harder to Rely on for Authentication

A recent example made me reconsider how much weight we should place on hardware engraving when evaluating Hermès pieces.

For years, engraving has been treated as an important au-th reference because genuine hardware often shows small differences in depth, spacing, cutting angle, and stroke consistency. These variations are expected when manual finishing is involved, which is also why comparing letter shapes alone is rarely enough.

More experienced evaluators usually pay closer attention to details such as tool entry and exit points, metal displacement, stroke direction, edge texture, and the overall rhythm of the engraving.

However, some newer non-authentic examples are reproducing these characteristics far more convincingly than before. In certain photographs, the engraving may appear natural enough to create uncertainty, even for people with considerable experience.

This does not mean engraving is no longer useful. It means it should not be treated as a standalone conclusion. Hardware finishing, construction, leather, stitching, proportions, date codes, provenance, and consistency across the entire item should all be considered together.

From a practical perspective, this makes it increasingly important to look at the piece as a whole rather than relying on a single detail. From a technical standpoint, it also shows that authentication methods need to keep evolving as production techniques become more refined.

Has anyone else noticed that hardware engraving has become less decisive in recent years?

PSP|Miss An Mini Kelly II in Noir Chèvre with Nata Interior

Miss An just sent me the PSPs for this Mini Kelly II in Noir chèvre leather with a Nata interior and PHW.

The black exterior look clean. From the front, the overall proportions seem good, but I’m mainly checking the handle shape and placement, flap alignment, sangles, turn-lock position, edge paint, and bottom corners.

I’ve also attached detailed photos of the hardware, engravings, clasp, and other small details. I’d really appreciate any opinions or QC advice before I GL. Thank you so much!

QC please! Miss An B25 Natural Snowflake Lizard

This B25 is from Miss An, in natural snowflake lizard with PHW. I had been looking for a neutral exotic bag for a while, and this skin stood out because every section of the pattern looks different.

I’m hoping anyone who has owned or handled this style can tell me how the quality looks. My wife has been asking for this bag for ages, and I finally bought one for her.

Now that I’ve received the PSPs, I’m starting to second-guess the front panel. I like the darker pattern through the center, but I’m not sure whether the placement looks balanced or a little too busy. Since this is my first time dealing with lizard leather, I honestly don’t know how much variation is considered normal.

I’d really appreciate any opinions or advice. Please let me know if you notice any issues with the skin placement, handles, hardware, or overall shape before GL. Thank you!
