Eight Princes vs Fates Divided

Hey there,

I'm debating getting one of these DLC in the sale. Can't decide on which one. I'm drawn to the time period and new set up of Eight Princes but also drawn to the generational gameplay of Liu Yan in Fates Divided. Reviews for Eight Princes are bad but seems to be running fine in 1980x which is okay with me since that's all my tv is.

Any advice on which one is better? I've only beat the game once with Shi Yie but had a great time with him.

They're both so cheap I could get both but I'll only commit to one at a time anyway.

Thoughts?

Dramatised Audiobooks (on Audible)

Hi there,

I have a question about the dramatised audiobooks from Audible. I'd like to listen to them but can you follow them with the Penguin Books edition of Looking Glass War or do they skip over bits and that's what dramatised means?

Michael Jayston is my favorite but he seems hard to track down.

Thanks for the help!

Learning to Play Without DLCs?

Hi there,

I really want to get into Victoria 3 and learn how to play it but I'm wondering if the base game is enough to play or (in sometimes classic Paradox fashion) Spheres of Influence and Charters of Commerce are best (I know Great Wave is still being fixed) to get and then learn or just stick with base Victoria 3?

I've played a decent number of hours on CK 2 & 3 and want to expand to EU and Vic. Any good Youtubers/guides for beginners much appreciated too!

Thank you!

To Valar or Not to Valar

Hi there,

I've been a player of LOTRO on and off, and mostly off, for about 14 years. I've got one character, a Beorning, to level 85ish and I've got some Valar boosts to lvl 130 that I'm considering using because I'm never going to finish this game with how I play MMOs (get a subscription, binge for 4 days, and don't play for 6 months).

I'm going to be going away to seminary in August and won't have access to a computer for 2 years and I'd love to get my character, or another one, to the end of the books, i.e. finish Mordor before then.

Is it possible to use Valar but then go back to beginning areas and just do the Epic Quests? I don't have a problem with the fighting being too easy, it is anyway when you do Epic and some side quests, and just enjoy the main story?

Thanks for the help!
