Shirts from goodwill bins (by the pound), sewing machine was gifted from A friend. Instructional books were from a used bookstore. A newbie at sewing so I'm open to feedback, be nice 🫠

Still working on the waist but it was my first attempt at elastic. Might do a drawstring or zipper . I call this "throwing paint at the wall and seeing what sticks."

Excited to make more for sure

If the show was produced outside of the us would it have a chance?

After the law judging (but I was entertained by him shaming tyra over fast fashion), I have momentarily switched to the British sewing bee due to a recommendation from this page. Been learning a lot but also an edible hit right at this scene and I was so confused lol. These are the friendliest people on earth and I definitely missed something about the fairy 😅

New season diversity

I watched early seasons and scrolled this thread to see if newer was worth watching. I just wanna learn how to sew but I know by now this show isn't gonna do that for me lol.

But anyways was prepared for shitty new episodes after reading this thread--one pleasant surprise was how diverse the whole show has gotten.

Models have diff body types and hair, not just skinny long haired white women. There were a few episodes early on where body shaming of "regular people" was a waste of camera time.

Id love to see tattooed models--maybe an episode where they design for tattooed people (my ink makes some clothes look weird)

Also previous seasons you knew an older person or black designer would be kicked out early on and it gave me the ick. Happy to see this change with diverse designers, despite the feeling that I'm watching big brother/real world reality show instead of sewing and designing lol.

Last thing, why is Heidi's hair and make up and lighting so dramatic. All the judges really. They don't look natural anymore. We will see how long I keep watching this. I'm in the football episode right now and I think it might be a no.

Funny date, how did he think this would end lol

Went back to a dating app after about a year break and matched with a nice enough guy. I told him I shoot hoops at night and he says, me too, I love shooting hoops! It's one of my favorite things! (but somehow can't answer where or with who)! We agree to meet at a safe outdoor court.

He somehow can't find any of the 3 entrances in the fence

His ball is "soft", he had no idea it would need air bc it was new and just bought That Day lol!

He was air balling free throws. Not hating on the guy but how did he think this was gonna go? I've been working on my 3 pointers and it's finally paying off, definitely fun stuff. This guy has obviously never played. Looked like he was trying to launch from half court.

He complained he was thirsty and didn't bring anything to drink and just looked at me? Then said his shins hurt and sat down and says some personal things about struggling to be motivated in his life in general. Stuff about past relationships , divorce, abusive ex, etc. Is this how he was told to do first dates lol.

This guy is 35 years old! I called him out (in a lightheaded but direct way) and told him, don't worry you're off the hook, I'm out. 10 years ago I might have felt bad for him or given him another chance but nah, what a stupid thing to lie about. His pictures were also old on his app. Less hair, more weight. Again, that's fine! Just don't expect it to go well if you aren't being honest. Not really a rant but didn't know what to label this as.

Sadly not attractive to people in car

Went to a music event tonight by myself and sat respectfully far/near a group. Everyone was boppin and having a good time. When I was driving home one of the people in the group pulled up next to me at a light (recognized THEIR tattoo) and started yelling at me that I was a nasty bitch and that they wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole and that I was probably racist. They said more but I couldn't understand/hear well enough.

Not sure what is going on in Northside. Bummer cuz I dig the music.

*Edit to answer questions. Tattoo I recognized was a spiderweb on THEIR left elbow. I have some solid black work ink, and normal skulls and animals ink. I buzz my hair to a 3 over the summer. I have gotten asked before by black coworkers if I'm "one of them" before we became friends. No during the show nobody was really talking, it was loud.

Lifetime gym injury, trouble getting medical bills reimbursed

Hi everyone, wondering if anyone else has been injured at lifetime gym in mason? I got a fiber glass splinter in my foot in the hot tub in the beginning of this month. It was bad enough I had to go to urgent care and file a police report. They have been dragging their feet on paying me for lost wages and medical bills. I was unable to walk for a few days. I had to be wheeled out of the locker room to my car after three lifeguards without gloves on dug at my foot and split up the splinter even more. I had to get on antibiotics. Wondering if anyone else has had luck getting money back from them? I called the health dept because they didn't close the hot tub after this happened and it was my second splinter (first was a month before and they will not supply incident reports for me). Now they want me to sign an NDA and release them from all responsibility Lol. I'd rather lose out on the urgent care bill and blast out what happened.

Music recs for songs with recognizable hooks

I play piano in a lounge setting and have a lot of freedom with what I play. So far I've done grunge night, 2000 girly pop, country music, 80s Madonna, you get the idea. I want to do a rap night but I need songs that have recognizable melodies in them, could just be the chorus. Send me your ideas 🙏
