What did badly shortsighted people do before glasses were invented?
I ask this as a fairly fit healthy male, who is badly shortsighted (R-6.5, L-5.5) because if i didn’t have contact lenses or glasses, I couldn’t walk around a town safely by myself!

I heard recently that the Cornish for rock is men and wondered whether that had any ancient Brythonic link to the High/Low/Little Man you see on a lot of Lake District crags and mountains?
Is there somewhere I could order seeds of British upland/mountain wild flowers?
My mum has a north-facing, rocky patch of her front lawn which I think mountain flowers could do really well in with regular watering.
Got this through the post today. I was going to do the free post but *apparently* it doesn’t actually work.
What are the best options for utterly, filthily, disgustingly defacing this AND Reform/the public seeing it?
NB I live in a rented property, so don’t want to display anything in landlord’s windows.
