Investigating science or science extension? Advice pls
I'm planning on dropping subjects after prelims and idk if I should drop investigating science for science extension. Right now my subjects are:
Chemistry
Physics
Adv english
Adv/ext1 math
Legal
Investigating science
I'm 100% dropping legal so that'd put me at 11 units, but I'm also thinking about dropping investigating and picking up science ext which would put me at 10 units. The thing is I don't know if it'll be worth it since the research report takes a lot of time and I'm already falling a bit behind in chemistry
Should I just stick with investigating? I'm neutral about the subject, it's not like I like or dislike it but the scaling is just piss compared to science extension (89 -> 71 vs 88 -> 82) and the course I want to do at unsw has 94 as its lowest selection rank.
I'm also kind of worried that science ext might take up too much of my time in y12 since it's an independent research report (and I have 0 time management skills). Can anyone that chose science extension tell me how the stress/difficulty/etc is compared to chem/phys/any other subject? Any advice or input regarding this post is greatly appreciated 🙏
