First of all apologies to Hangar 13, 2k, Mafia 3 game, to doubt u guys, to say it is the worse in series even without playing just making an opinion on how people reacted to it .....

Just finished Marcano and the game too, and came here to show ma respect to this masterpiece. It is one of those games which u are so damn interested u feel like when I am gonna see the end and how it would be. From characters to music, cars to radio, ambience to enviroment, story to characters (again) is damn top notch.

Again wanna start with PROS and CONS (sorry)---

Pros:

• The ambience and enviroment from new Bordeaux to all outskirts are just damn crazy (I complained about it prev but now I know..), feels like u are actually in a live city not a 3d structure of city.
• The weather makes it more refreshing and beautiful (see in ss) and the rain on top is just chef's kiss.
• The cars are like beauty with beast (lincoln), the handling is so damn crazy its just between arcade and simulation. I love the one exotic car, I doubt the name but it was red and like very fast, smooth and suprisingly very silent (for a moment I felt is it electric ?).
• Then comes the generational music, I mean I found the game's music one of the best of all time. Also it plays when u gonna start a mission of eliminating some boss, also while marcano's mission music was just damn cool.
• The story narration just feels like a damn good documentary along with an investigating officer crazy!!
• The discrimination of blacks is just shown very accuarately and it is disturbing and u feel for those people seeing how the society behaved.
• The graphics was again excellent at that time the mocap was so smooth u could actually see the veins moving, the neck movemnt everything. I felt so amazed knowing when did they shoot it. Also the enviroment is breakable from mugs to screens, plants, everything you could break just like in forza games, very good feature tho.
• Certain things I found was very innovative and useful like the weapon wheel's features like the consiligre (or whatever it is), ammo refill (damn useful), police dispatcher, and the goat Car Delivery man he is just what people call god, u could also call guys for help damn crazy I never used tho but still.
• The district system's also cool but sometimes it scares me bcoz I knew the spoiler so was terrified to give whom what. Also those 3 just eats ur brain so irritating lol.
• Then my new favourite character of all time 'THE JOHN DONOVON' this is the guy u want by ur side. Crazy guy he is smart, funny, quirky, intelligent, I mean he is the great. He just escalate the scene wherever he comes. Strange never heard of him in best characters, SAD!
• Lincoln Freaking Clay, what a guy, he felt personal, he has somehow the most personal character arc I mean u felt the way he feel, I did tho !
• >!Loved the Decision thing at last it made me think for 10 minutes seriously one of the best choice in games at this point.!<
• Also thanks for that magazines, helped a lot.

CONS (Few but the one's which reflects the most) -

• They introduce a system in which u have to destroy from the base not just eliminate marcano, no u have to actually go after his small mobs then go up, sounds good. But when u do it for the 1000th time u might feel it as repetitive (Those who have played might know). See If I am being clear, DID THE REPETION MADE ME FEEL LIKE LEAVING THE GAME? - NO, WAS IT LETTING DOWN THE GAME ? - NO! , WOULD I DO IT MORE? - MAYBE. So the thing is it is interesting bcoz u could do either way like be a Hitman or Madman choice is yours. This choice is interesting but till a point. Although they don't have that repetition that much how people are saying but fact is it is there but manageable.
• I felt for sometime like this is being stretched unnecessarily like they could have easily cut some things down.
• If it is sold as open world then why can't we eat, shop, hire a taxi, play games, have garages, etc. Look I never started bcoz I wanted this I just wanted a good story, smooth gameplay, good mechanics, good enviroment, thats it and I got it so I don't really care but u know if they are selling as open world so they would have put all of this to make it an open world. Being just a story game isn't bad but IMO they felt FOMO of how GTA 5 shaped open world rpg so maybe it is what it is.

So, sorry for making this huge review but I want to just make my heart open in front of you guys (I didn't had food my mother's calling from last 30 mins but writing this review asap).

So to conclude if you want good story with great characters, brilliant acting and mocap, then you definately love this one. Just don't expect a lot from this game as being open world as it is cleary not. Also I knew all spoilers and end still enjoyed this game (Just saying!!).

SPOILERS (look only if you have completed it )------ >!I chose to go from NEW BORDEAUX not becoming the king. As I felt he was never behind the throne he just wanted a revenge. Let me know yours...!<

Just Completed it in 2 days, what a game man. Those who are complaining it just don't know what story means in a game, they all care just about being an open world thing in every other game. It is one of the best installments in mafia franchise.

PROS

1. Excellent narration and storytelling.
2. Brilliant Acting and dubbing, u forget for a sec is this even a game in cutscenes
3. Scenic views, beautiful Landscape, very photorealistic.
4. Good Gunplay, great driving mechanics (not very complex but fun), nice looting system (just like the rdr ones)

CONS

1. Optimization held it back, so badly optimized. Maybe bcoz they shifted from their own engine to unreal I guess.
2. Knife fight being an USP feels repetitive and Unchallengeable, I mean a 5y/o kid could defeat in the boss fights.

Those who are complaining abt the Open world is true there is no open world. Missions are like episode they directly start after the other no in between time for open world thing, for eg - while progressing u are given a new house and after that it took around 2-3 mission to take a glimpse by myself so yeah u could understand.

But here's a catch the developer never said or the mafia franchise was never meant to have an open world it just care for its story while the world is beautiful at the same time but more like a backdrop.

So in conclusion, If u are someone who played Mafia 1 & 2 (3 was bad I don't even consider it) then u would exactly feel this is how it has to be a mafia game. But if u are someone who just love RPG, open world, then this might disappoint you.

I was also skeptical but when just started the game I loved it from the first chapter of it. The start may feels slow and laggy (that's how the optimization is bad) but once u get habit u didn't even notice it.

SO Mafia Fans definetely go for this u would love it.

EDIT - JUST forget about Music, it was only one theme played all over the game at diff instances but still was good hearing it. And yeah - spoiler alert->!The last scene where Isabella reads the letter there starts mafia 2 music in bg very low then when empire tower shows it just explodes my mind with the music, Damn,,,!<
