Viewfinder Framing Issues

First off, I like the camera, it's fun, and it keeps me off my phone.

However, I am having issues with the viewfinder framing.

I know others have commented on this, but I wanted to create a post specifically for the viewfinder issue, so others could find it more easily.

I am having two issues with the viewfinder framing:

  1. If I place something centrally in the viewfinder, it doesn't end up central in the image. in the attached B&W image, the streetlight had been placed in the center of the viewfinder, whereas, the streetlight tends to the bottom left in the image. Sometime it is even more pronounced than this.
  2. If I fill the viewfinder with a subject, the actual image shows more of the surroundings. The second image, I had filled the viewfinder with the door, but the step and frame above ended up in the image. (Note that there is also the centering issue in this photo too.)

Have others had similar problems?
Does anyone have a work around to help frame images better?
Also, could this be a distance issue?
I'm wondering if the viewfinder frames correctly at infinity for instance?

Thank you in advance.

Paul
