Totaled in two days

Got my neptune 4 plus refurbished from a third party seller. I'm not new to 3d printing. I haven't used a lot of direct drive machines, but my ender 5 pro has served me well for years. I got a couple prints out of this thing, but it kept forgetting the z offset between sessions and starting off too far from the bed. I'm pretty sure that's what happened here. On my ender, it would just make spaghetti if this happened. I guess the elegoo version of that is complete self destruction.

Obviously this print head is done. I might try and get another one from the refurbisher. Any advice before I do this again?
