First night went terrible

Last night I tried my CPAP for the first time and I just couldn’t fall asleep. I managed to keep it on for 3 1/2 hours and I think I must have slept for a short time…my AHI was 1.5 this morning. But pretty sure I was awake the majority of the time it was on. At 5 am when I heard birds chirping outside and saw the sun shining through my curtains, I tore it off so I could get a few decent hours of sleep. Today I feel like trash. Please tell me this gets easier. I am also neurodivergent and I’m not sure I’ll get past having something on my face all night. Any tips for making this easier?

Just diagnosed...

Hi all, I just found out today that I have severe sleep apnea. I was first tested a few years ago and it was mild at that time (although, I barely slept that night and not sure the results were accurate). I just had a recent test done last week, which diagnosed the severe SA. My problems seemed to start after I had Covid-19 in 2023. Anyway, I have an appointment in a couple of weeks to get a trial machine. They also recommended a pumlonary function test as my sats dropped as low as 72% at one point during my most recent study. Has anyone had this recommended, and what did it show, if anything? I am a bit nervous about that. Also, how is it sleeping with the device? I was recommended the BongoRX a few years ago and it was terrible. I can't sleep with something shoved up my nose. I am also curious if anyone has been successful reversing their SA? I am somewhat embarassed as I have gained about 20 lbs since the pandemic, and since I turned 40, it's damn near impossible to lose weight. I am also borderline diabetic, so I am hoping the improved sleep will help in all aspects of my life. Looking for insight, advice, assurance that it'll be ok. lol. Also, what machines do people like? My health insurance covers a machine at 100%, so any price point is fine. Thanks! :)

Loose wires from utility pole

Anyone else in GP have these loose wires hanging from the utility poles behind their houses? We had some trees removed recently and now the thing is whipping around like crazy in the wind and sometimes swings over our fence.
Pretty sure it’s a Telus line, not power. Just wondering if this is normal or if anyone’s had Telus come out and secure it/tighten it up?

Railway Spikes

I found these railway spikes in my yard a few days ago when digging some space in for a new flower bed. They were very heavily corroded but they’ve been soaking in evapo rust for 24 hours or so? And they’ve cleaned up a bit. Found in Grande Prairie, Alberta on a property right behind the train tracks. Does anyone have an idea on dating? Do these look hand-forged or more modern? Any info appreciated, thanks! 😊
