My strange dream.....

Noy can be a vampire adjacent character (or he's just a Lantern Fae)

> the "Varcolac" were the trickiest things to deal with. They had two hearts and could transform into two entirely distinct forms: human and fae. Yet, no matter which form they took on, their fur remained the same color.

> He'd heard tales of the Varcolac having a particular fondness for tasting fresh, human blood. What sent another chill down his spine was the organ, which was actually made from bone! Moreover, as an experienced hunter, it did not seem as if the bones were from an ordinary wild beast or common livestock...

Now this basically is about Varcolac, in Night Murmurs book, they're described as dangerous fae but now here's the catch with them;

> The tale abruptly ends here. Who can say for certain whether this is a legend or an undiscovered truth? Perhaps the fae known as the "Varcolac" really possess two hearts. They are now nearly extinct, and many have dismissed them as absurd myths. However, rumor has it that the Duchess, Lady Evlampiya Orlova of Snezhnaya, is actually a Varcolac, albeit one not covered in wolf fur.

So we are back to, "legend has it" so it may or may not to be true but the thing is, we have at least one fae described to be blood drinker as well;

> Miscislav, known in The Volkhov Chronicles as the Blood-Devourer. The great ruler of all Volkodlak, the wise blood-drinker, the master of the Miscislavli alliance.

Now the book doesn't say that Varcolac and Miscislavli are the same(albeit not feasible to do so cuz Miscislav himself died as soon as Monomakh pierced his head, while the Varcolac fae in the Night Murmurs book survived a fatal attack while being alive with his 2nd heart)

But I do think think that Varcolac either are off-shoots of Miscislavli alliance or Miscislavli alliance has members who are akin to Varcolac. Obviously these are not depthful connections but I do think Noy is either a fae with two heart(Varcolac) or he's of same/few generations down to the King Miscislav. I do think latter holds more potential because Noy in Russian is for Noah and I hope at least this time, they don't give the Noah and his ark thing a red herring (*looks at Wriothesley and his ship*), Noy being a 6k year old Fae would be certainly interesting.

Or he's just a Lantern Fae based on his entry in the teaser.

Nibelung isn't the 2nd Descender (part whatever because this has been brought up a lot but my 2 cents)

So basically, the answer is simple, with all the new evidences and stuff. Just having a strong will isn't enough. It's about being a Primordial Human.

Mhy is slowly revealing many things about the connection between Primordial Humans and Descenders.

The first clue we had was Rene's notes:

"Io, Io, Pan! That which lies beneath the great sea!"

The purpose of this line in the ritual scripture is to forsake the self and sink into the abyss, and in the abyss, to welcome rebirth as a holy infant.

The origin of this is a tragedy of unknown provenance that has been passed down by persons unknown to this day. Said play is called "Ajax," or "Aias." He was the second-strongest warrior in his alliance.

Lies beneath the great sea" is, itself, an interesting phrase. It comes from ancient Sumeru texts, and should be read as "Narayana," which also means "primordial human."

This, too, is my goal, for not all that comes from beyond may be as one that "descends." That title belongs only to wills that can rival an entire world.

Now lots of things to handle from this with respect to recent quest(s):

First being the the "The purpose of this line in the ritual scripture is to forsake the self and sink into the abyss, and in the abyss, to welcome rebirth as a holy infant."

This line quite interesting because of the new things we learnt from Temple of Space:

Melanta: I once believed it was merely punishment for transgressions. But now I fear there is a deeper meaning behind it, as it is with the heretical myth that light and darkness birthed the primordial human

And;

Istoria: It tells of the god of light who created a body in its own likeness, only for it to be stolen away by the king of darkness.Thus, within that single body, the powers of light and darkness began to contend with one another. And so the primordial human, bearing both, came to possess both good and evil.

And then Nicole's input on PO's identity+ Descenders/Traveler:

In another converged possibility, Albedo was the "Primordial Human" who traveled through worlds, recording and creating all. However, once that journey reached its end, no one would have been able to guarantee whether he would choose destruction or salvation. Luckily, you're the one who embarked on the journey this time. Hm? How did the alternate Albedo fare? I can no longer observe that possibility. Besides, copying someone else's answer is of little use. This journey is your own.

Lots of voiceline and notes dumping so I will explain one by one:

Primordial Humans are obviously beings born of both darkness (Abyss) and Light (Light realm), wrt to Teyvat's world. Now I propose at core basis; Primordial Humans are capable of harnessing both destruction and constructive energies. It isn't the matter of Abyss or light realm energy but the energies that exist throughout the universe.

Now I obviously don't know where humans came into existence or even dragons. But if going my the myth of creation as Istoria says then perhaps, a higher being of creation created first humans in universe and they mayhaps also came to control the Abyss. I propose, these original humans were what both PO, 3rd Descender and Twins are from. Twins' homeland was of those who could construct and destruct.

But Nibelung can also construct and destruct.*

Agreed but if taking Primordial Humans on face value, Nibelung obviously is far from being a human to begin with let alone being a race where humans were likely the First humans in the universe. Now obviously these **are theories.**One more thing our 3 Descenders share is the capability to use all the energies without getting affected externally at least. Nibelung was explicitly changed. From a pristine white dragon in murals to a dark rageful dragon.

If Abyss and Will alone was needed to make a Descender, I am sure then people like Surtalogi or Vedrfolnir would have been the 5th or 6th Descender.

Surtalogi is even free from Teyvat's destiny(not to confuse with universal destiny) and can come and go across Teyvat's borders as he pleases, yet he's not one.

On a personally level, it's hard to believe that Nibelung became a Descender just on the basis of Abyss.

Now I also incline to believe Nahida's (that came from Pierro) words that Descenders are aliens. Mind you, this doesn't mean I believe all aliens are descenders based on how many aliens we have encountered aren't. But I do think that natives can't possibly become Descenders.

But PO remade the world before Nibelung came back.

True but also, PO IS the First Descender on basis of the previous world, not the world they remade. So that means the Descender rules apply wrt old world, not new one.

But Rene's notes imply that natives can become Descenders.

I am going to be very real, he failed. If his plan was so foolproof then Rene could have actually achieved Descender status. His logic wasn't completely infallible. To an extend, they were correct but his own emotions and thoughts became his own enemy. I mean Carter quite literally calls his ways akin to being mentally ill. So yes, I don't think the note is a proof of a native ascending to Descender-hood.

Now idk why our twin isn't a Descender but that is questioned by the game. Like Khaenri'ah believed them to be a Descender and I doubt it was on completely baseless means and our Sibling could harness the Abyss and that is seemingly a bit Descender like so who knows. Maybe they lost some criteria along the way or something, we don't know yet. We don't even know all the criteria for Primordial Humans. What made Albedo different from his previous siblings, who knows.

But then who does Lauma refer to in war of Descenders?

Why of course, the real 2nd Descender, "the one who came after". Neither Voyager nor Nibelung would have had helped PO to make the Gnosis out of 3rd Descender's body. So how about the one who did.

Now this is a purely speculative piece of writing so but what I think is that the 2nd Descender tagged along with Nibelung and helped him fight until he became the losing side and switched up. It makes sense to be, to be in a world that's ruled by the victor. But obviously, we have zero to no clue on who's the "one who came after" or when or from where they came from. But I am quite sure of the fact that this 3rd person in War of Funerary Flame is the 2nd Descender. This person couldn't have had just did nothing and become PO's ally, there's likely whole story of it(as with all things in Genshin).

Anyways, this my cue to leave, I have my own beliefs and everyone here there's own, so I would appreciate if we don't fight here. What will become canon would be something either we predicted or something entirely unpredictable.
