How to actually secure a place as a student??

I am trying to move down town for school and rent my own place, but I’m honestly feeling very discouraged from what I’ve seen online. Any landlords have tips for how a student like me can actually be accepted? I already have a generous amount saved up (enough to cover 8 months rent), and will be working part time during the school year.

Is there any way for a student to not require a guarantor?

I’m a student and plan on moving to Toronto in September for the school year, and have been told that I’ll most likely need a guarantor. The problem with this is that I don’t believe my parents will be willing to be a guarantor for me, and I don’t think their income is enough either way.

I’ve been working and saving majority of what I make, along with other previous savings. This will come up to enough to cover the full year of rent plus some extra. I also plan to work during the school year, so I know for sure I will be able to cover my rent.

Would any landlords here see this as enough to not need a guarantor? Or is there anything I can do to strengthen my case so I don’t need a guarantor? If there’s anyone who’d like to speak to me further about this and learn more details you can message me!
