Client management - Delivering bad news

Hi all,

I’m cutting a corporate promo. The B-Roll is absolutely terrible. Borderline unusable. (I didn’t shoot this)

Do you think I should get ahead of it and inform the client or should I make the best of it and cross that bridge once I deliver the first cut?

TIA.

…. How to ensure it doesn’t look overlit?

Client has a particular frame in mind. BG is big windows looking into skyline. No blinds on the windows and they’re too big to calm down with scrim.

I’ve got a powerful key but I’m always struggling to not melt my subject retinas as I’m going to need a serious amount of grunt to balance out the inevitable bright sunny day crashing through the background.

How do you guys approach these situations? Increasing the diff on the key?

TIA

Hi all,

I've been asked to submit a bid for a Non Profit conference. The event is over three days and involves interstate travel and two fairly large deliverables.

I'm curious as to other peoples experience in dealing with NP. Without undercutting yourself, do you try to come in a little cheaper?

This organisation happens to be the philantropy arm of one of the biggest companies in the world and a quick google search shows it has annual revenue of $7m.. So im inclined to keep solid on my rates.

However, in the advert for the job, the Marketing Manager did say that this could be a good opportunity for a student who is looking for a side hussle yet in my correspondence they've made it clear they want a much more professional job than the somewhat average video they commisioned last year.

Insight and advice appreciated.

TIA.
