Do you think the guys will ever blow up again?

Of course “The Middle” is and always will be popular, but this band has such a deep and rich, and frankly incredible and underrated discography. Almost everything they’ve put out since Static Prevails is pure gold. It’s amazing to me that since TikTok and reels/shorts have been around that something out of their discography hasn’t caught on somewhere with some trend.

I’m not saying I want that to be how they blow up again, but their entire discography is just littered with amazing moments, journeys, views, etc.

So many other bands with one or two good songs really catch a wave and float above the rest temporarily. I’d love to see this band with one of (if not the best) discography I’ve ever heard catch a little more love.

Maybe it’s just my love for this band, but it just feels like a Van Gogh situation in how they might not get appreciated until way later on despite being incredible. I’m biased and they have been my favorite band for 10 years now. Some of you 25 or more. My point still stands, my question awaits your answer!

So let’s discuss LP4!

What are your thoughts? What is your favorite song on the album? What songs make you feel certain ways? Which instrumentals, lyrics, or vocal moments stab you in the heart?

I’ll start!

I originally got into Americ anFootball around 2019, found them because I discovered the Midwest emo subreddit when LP3 came out and was like “What the fuck is ‘Midwest Emo’”? Jimmy Eat World being my favorite band I was trying to find more emo bands that I liked.

So I fell in love with LP1, and 7 years later returned and fell in love with LP3.

LP4 is definitely my favorite yet!

I feel like I’m a ship washed out to sea with no hope of rescue when I listen to “Man Overboard”

“Bad Moons” originally got my attention because of how… progressive it was? Like that song evolves so poignantly over that course of 8 mins. Every moment of that song is really important to what it’s trying to do.

Lyrics take me a long time to digest, so I’m still learning about my feelings with these vocals. Over this is an extremely enchanting listen and I’m completely obsessed.

Last but not least - this album is definitely affecting my mentality. This is a very sad album to listen to. Lyrically, musically. Really gives me an appreciation for a lot of things going on in my life.
