Question about extending the travel on a trek xcaliber and other upgrade questions

Hello. So I have a trek xcaliber 8 I got in 2023 and I really like the bike. The only thing I could think to complain about is the rather steep headtube angle. It’s 69 degrees and it can make descents feel rather precarious. I have a Rockshox Judy gold on the bike and I’m curious if increasing the travel to slacken the headtube is even a worthwhile upgrade. My second question is what I can do to this bike to make it more capable. I’ve upgraded the bike quite a bit with a dropper post and new brakes. But I’m curious what else could be done to make the bike quicker. Thanks for any advice

Help with Liquid Metal removal part 2

Ok so I just posted about needing help with the Liquid Metal to Ptm and I have another issue. I’m trying to clean the cooler of any Liquid Metal but I’m having a problem. There is this bar on top of the cooler and I’m unsure if it’s part of the cooler or solidified Liquid Metal. Any help would be appreciated.

HELP with Liquid Metal removal.

Hello. So I finally decided after dealing with bad thermals to do the PTM replacement on my framework 16. Everything was going fine until I removed the heat sink. The Liquid Metal didn’t come off in one solid piece like the manual shows and despite my best efforts I cannot seem to get the die completely clean. I’m not familiar with working on exposed dies so I’m not sure what to do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

▲ 1 r/UCD

Hello. I’m an undergraduate college student from America looking to possibly study abroad next spring. There are a few colleges I’m looking at attending and on is UCD. I have a few questions about the university. I’m in environmental studies and was curious how good the life sciences classes are a UCD. Also how is the social life like? My current university is a very commuter focused school so the social life I find is very lacking. I briefly visited Dublin in 2024 and absolutely loved the city from what I saw. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
