Can't open the fuel tank cap on my 2021 skoda scala.
I can't open my fuld tank cap on my skoda. It is locked. And i have tried to lock and unlock the car several times. Any tips?
Update: i got it open by help from here. The answer is deleted so here it is what helped me.
Keep Lock an unluck the car while push carefully on the rearest end on the tank cap near the lock.
Eventually it will turn the lock and open.
Did it like maybe 20-40 times before it opened.
When it is open, you can use a plier or a small saw to remove the small tabs on the locking pin so it doesn't do it again.
Update 2: Here is a little more detailed explanation.
On the left side, there is a lock pen to the gas coveR. It is connected to a little electronic motor. So then you lock the car with your key, is also lock the gas cap.
Then you open your car with your key, the little motor should turn the lock pen so you can open the gas tap.
Because the electronic motor doesn't work perfectly, it sometimes doesn't unlock so the gas cover.
Solution to that is.
- Press lock on your car key.
- On the same time push carefully on the left side on the cover (near the lock/pen)
- press open on your car key
- On the same time push carefully on the left side on the cover (near the lock/pen)
- do it over again...
Every time you do it you help the electronic motor to turn the lock/pen a little bit..
Eventually it will open.
