West Fifth vs 55 West Fifth?

Hi all,

I've seen the negative reviews lately regarding issues at 55 west fifth (the towers), but I was wondering if the experience would be similar at the sister building, west fifth (e.g., 85 west fifth).

I know that they are both managed by Equity (which I am aware has quite a reputation), but I'd like to know if there are any (dis)advantages to being at one apartment vs. the other (e.g., staff, pests, noise issues, package safety). Besides the fact that 55 west fifth is simply more updated than west fifth.

Thank you!

Parking at Alta De Sabla (or Downtown Apartments In General)?

Hi all,

I'm thinking of leasing at alta de sabla in downtown san mateo, but heard there's a parking waitlist. Have any of you been at an apartment without parking availability? If so, what did you do in the meantime (besides just not having a car)?

Are there other options for parking your car long-term? I know there's a residential parking permit for street parking, but I believe you still have to move your car around every few days.

Thanks in advance for any info!

Apartments in downtown seem to not take calls or emails?

Hi all,

I'm from out of state and will be moving to San Mateo this summer. However, I'm having an unexpectedly hard time getting hold of anyone at the leasing offices for apartments downtown.

For example, I've had no luck getting a call or email back from Alta De Sabla and Addison at Central Park. I've tried a few times (at different hours) over the last few weeks.

Are the apartments in the downtown area usually this unresponsive? I'll be able to visit in a month or so to do in-person tours, but it's odd that I can't even get in contact with anyone first.

Any info helps, thanks!
